leafpaw entered her camp, shameful. whatever he punishes me with.. I hope its not too bad.. she looked over at the leaders den and seen her leader glaring at her, eyes like flames, but of anger instead of fire. he gestured for her to come over to him, and she dipped her head in embarrassment and slowly padded over.
' ' i hope you understand, ' ' stonestar began, as soon as leafpaw was in his den, ' ' that you caused a lot of bloodshed, a lot of pain to your clanmates. on top of that, you just might have caused war between thunderclan and riverclan. ' '
' ' i-i.. I didnt mean to, stonestar.. ' ' leafpaw whispered in guilt. she knew she was the cause of this, but she knew mistpaw was right. moonpaw was just as guilty of this as her, and stonestar was a horrible decision-maker. although she wanted to, she couldnt say anything against her leader.
' ' as your punishment, you will be kept as an apprentice for another two moons, ' ' stonestar meowed.
' ' w-what? ' ' leafpaw looked at the leader in disbelief, ' ' i get that my mistake was bad, but- but- to- ' '
' ' hush, leafpaw. you will deal with your punishment. If you continue talking to me about this, ill make you an apprentice for the rest of your life, ' ' stonestar threatened leafpaw, ' 'now, go to your nest. you will have to care for the elders and cats in the nursery as well for the next moon, so you better get some rest. ' '
leafpaw dipped her head and slipped out of the den and went to her nest. snowstorms past words ringing in her head. be careful when you meet that tom again, leafpaw. he may destroy you.
is this what she had meant? or did she mean he could have killed me in that battle... he was winning in the fight between us there. what if he was going to kill me- did mistpaw save my life? thoughts and theories swirled around in her head as she tried to sleep. she decided she couldnt sleep and stood up, stretching and padded out of the den. she took a deep breath of fresh air as she exited the camp and made her way to the river.
once she arrived at the river, she sat down and stared into the water, looking at her reflection. what have i done..
' ' leafpaw? ' ' a confused meow came from across the river.
leafpaw looked up to see mistpaw, staring back at her with curiosity.
' ' what are you doing? ' ' mistpaw called out again, ' ' can i cross over? ' '
leafpaw nodded to mistpaw, assuring she could cross.
' ' why are you out so late? ' ' leafpaw asked mistpaw, once she had gotten over the river.
' ' getting herbs for lilypool, since i have nothing better to do, and its supposed to be a sort of ' punishment ' for leaving the medicine den, ' ' mistpaw exhaled.
' ' oh? how come you were in the medicine den? ' ' leafpaw was curious of what had happened to her.
' ' i..i dont really know why, if im going to be honest, ' ' mistpaw sighed, ' ' once, i was padding over to find my mentor and then everything went black. Anyways, why are you out so late? ' '
' ' i- well, i guess i couldnt sleep.. I kept thinking about my punishment and what snowstorm said to me and- ' ' leafpaw stopped before she said anymore.
' ' wh-what was the punishment? ' ' mistpaw whispered.
' ' i.. Im forced to be an apprentice for two extra moons, ' ' leafpaw dipped her head in guilt.
' ' for something you misinterpreted? ' ' leafpaw saw the shock and disgust in mistpaws eyes, ' ' he cant do that, can he? ' '
' ' i guess he can.. a leaders word is law, anyways, ' ' leafpaw mewed, then standing up.
' ' i suppose i should get back to camp, ' ' mistpaw stood up as well, then stretched, ' ' its getting a bit too late to be out. Ill see you around, leafpaw! ' '
' ' see ya! ' ' leafpaw replied to mistpaw, then turned around.
turn back.. a voice in her head kept saying, like if something was going to go wrong. leafpaw shook her head and started towards camp, but then she heard a splash behind her, causing her to whip her head around.
' ' mistpaw! ' ' leafpaw yowled as she saw the thunderclan apprentice unconsciously floating down the rushing river.
she bolted back to the river and ran down the side of it, trying to catch up with mistpaw. she eventually reached mistpaw and she jumped in, grabbing her by the scruff and dragged her back to thunderclans side of the river. oh starclan, please let her be ok.. leafpaw set mistpaw down and examine her. she noticed a long, slightly bloody slash going down her one eye. she must have hit her eye on a rock..
she let out a low sigh and picked mistpaw up again and started making her way to thunderclan camp. I hope they dont kill me here..
