"Why are you picking us up, Uncle Tae?" Min Ja asked curiously as she saw Taehyung walk into the room with Hyo Bin in his arms. "Where's Mommy?"
"Mommy got really sick, so she's at home." He said. Min Ja's eyes widened.
"Mommy is sick now too?!" She asked, covering her mouth. Taehyung smiled, grabbing her bag and slinging it over her shoulder. "Oh no... am I going to get sick too?"
"Not so long as I'm around to help." He said, taking her hands. "Now, say goodbye so we can go home." Min Ja turned around and waved goodbye to them as she followed Taehyung out. She was pestering him with questions the entire walk home, Taehyung trying his best to keep her calm while also keeping her in the loop. Upon returning to the apartment, he walked in to see you sitting at the table, head resting against the flat surface while Hoseok sat beside you. There was a bowl in front of you, and the steam rising from it indicated it had yet to be touched.
"Mommy!" Min Ja ran over, standing on the other side of the table. "...Mommy are you sick?" You shifted your head to Min Ja's direction. You had just finished completely emptying your stomach, and your throat still hurt too much to speak. All you could do was offer her a kind smile. "Mommy..."
Taehyung set Hyo Bin down as he approached the table as well. When he saw you didn't eat, he sighed a bit. "Should we take you to the hospital?" he asked. "If you keep throwing up more than you eat, that can't be good." Shaking your head, you sat up. Seeing the fear in Min Ja's eyes sent a wave of strength through your body.
"I'm okay..." you choked out. Grabbing the bowl of soup, you brought it close to your mouth and used the spoon to scoop the contents into your mouth. It killed you, and you knew it would mostly likely come up again in a few hours, but you needed to try and eat. "Thanks, Hobi.." he smiled a bit.
"Of course." He said. "Eat as much as you can, okay?" You nodded as you began to eat some. You watched Taehyung lead the girls into the living room, turning on the TV and crouching down to pick a game. The games he had in the house for his consoles were mostly cute children's games for the girls to play, or something that was simple enough for the girls to help him play through. Min Ja was always drawn to a brightly colored Pororo video game, her attention now totally on the idea of playing this as she begged Taehyung to set it up. Hoseok smiled as he watched from the kitchen. Glancing at you, he saw you managed to finish half of the soup before setting the bowl down with a groan.
"Are you done?" he asked curiously. When he saw you nod, he walked over and took the bowl, dumping the extras out and setting it in the sink to clean it. "Alright now, it's time to go to sleep." He hummed, helping you to your feet.
"I'm fine, Hobi." You tried to say, but a deep cough proved that was not true and you covered your mouth. Hoseok frowned, not convinced. "...What?"
"You won't break your fever if you sit here and try to be a mom. You need to rest. Now-." He grabbed some water bottles and a bottle of medicine. "We're going to put you in your room, cover you in blankets, turn on your TV and let you sleep." He pointed to the girls, who were hanging on Taehyung as Pororo game booted up and began playing the theme song. "We can handle this." A deep and frustrated sigh exited your body as you nodded, glancing at Hoseok. He grinned. "Good. Let's go. Move, move, move it." He huffed, playfully hustling you inside as you chuckled in amusement.
In the bedroom, Hoseok led you to the bed and helped you into it. He set the bottles on your bedside table before grabbing the mountain of blankets, playfully tossing each one over them with a high-pitched exertion of noise. It was as if you were a young child again, and honestly, it was helping. Each time he did it, the ridiculously adorable noise that he made caused you to giggle or full on burst into laughter. He grinned as he saw you nestled under five different blankets. "Okay!" He said. "Now make sure to get a lot of rest, okay?" You nodded as you watched him walk over and turn on the TV. Flicking the lights off, the glow of the TV worked as a good night light, while the volume was enough to soothe you to sleep while still being loud enough to hear.
