Chapter 6: Pie

I'm running through a field of darkness. I'm yelling for Niall, but he's nowhere in sight. Wait, why am I running? I hear a loud screeching noise, and turn around. There's this giant flying monster thing chasing me. That would be why I'm running. I start to run faster, but I trip and fall. I look up and see Niall at the edge of a cliff. The monster soars over me, and goes for Niall. "Niall! Look out!" I scream. Niall turns around, and just looks at me. The creature flies over Niall and just misses him, but Niall looses his balance and falls over the edge of the cliff. "No!" I yell. I get up and run towards the cliff. I look over the edge, and all I see is a big bloody mess where Niall's body lay.

I wake up, and the first thing I see is Niall looking at me with a worried expression on his face. I sit up and hug him. "You were thrashing around and screaming a little in your sleep, so I woke you up." Niall says, hugging me back. I pull away from Niall and look around the room. Lucia and Harry are still sleeping, Danny is laying beside Lucia, waiting for her to wake up, and everyone else is upstairs. I go upstairs, and there's tones of pies set around the kitchen. I lift my eyebrows and look over at Niall. "Lucia's mom had been making pies all morning."

"I hope you're hungry, because you guys are having some pie for breakfast!" Lucia's mother says, smiling at me. I shrug my shoulders, and take a seat at the table.

Moments later, Harry, Lucia and Danny come upstairs. "Morning!" I say to Lucia with my mouth full of pie. "Your mom makes fantastic pie!" I give her a thumbs up. Lucia takes a seat next to Liam.

Niall turns to look at me. "So, what was going on in your dream that was so bad you were kicking me and screaming?"

I look at him and swallow my pie. "You died." I say with no expression.

Niall looks at me with a sad expression and drops his fork. "I died?"

"Well, I didn't kill you. You just kinda... Fell off a cliff." I tell him, shoving more pie into my mouth. I look up, and Liam is staring romantically at Niall. Niall looks over, and they stare intensely into each other's eyes. They have a little bromance going on like Harry and Louis.

Zayn decides to stop this "So Niall," Niall looks over at Zayn. "Are you and Alexia like a thing now?" Zayn smiles at us. Niall turns pink, and I turn bright red with embarrassment.

Everyone laughs at us. "I'll take that as a yes!" Liam says.

After breakfast, everyone leaves. Niall and I were just about to leave, when Lucia's mom comes into the kitchen, looking for Lucia. "Alexia, is Lucia still here? I need her to stay here and make more pie crusts while I go to the store and buy more ingredients."

"No, she just left with Danny. But Niall and I can make them for you." I volunteer. Niall looks at me, and I smile.

"Oh really? You don't mind doing this for me?" Lucia's mom asks cheerfully.

"Yeah, we don't mind." I say, walking over to the counter. Niall makes his way over beside me, and we smile at Mrs. Goodwin. She grabs her purse, says thank you, and is out the door.

Niall and I finish a couple pie crusts, then I say, "This is actually pretty fun. No wonder Lucia's mom has been doing it all day!"

"Yeah... But do you know what would make this even more fun?" Niall asks.

"What?" I question. just as I look at him, Niall flicks some flour in my face.

"That." Niall smiles at me.

"You know what? That is kinda fun. Let me try." I flick some flour back in his face.

"Oh no! It's on!" Niall yells.

"Like Donkey Kong!" I yell back. Then we get into a huge war with the ingredients.

Minutes later, Niall stopped me. "Whoa! Alexia, you're a mess!" Let me help you clean off a bit..." Then he takes the sink hose, and starts spraying me with water. I squeal from the shock of cold water hitting my skin, and just continue throwing ingredients at him.

Soon, I'm soaked, and have soggy ingredients slowly making their way off my body, while Niall is completely dry, but still a mess. We stop our war, and lean against a wall laughing, then slide down it to sit on the floor. Niall puts his arm around me, and I put my head on his chest. Just then, Mrs. Goodwin enters the house. "What the...?!" She yells in shock.

Startled, Niall and I jump up. "We kinda, got into a little war..." I explain.

All of a sudden, Lucia's mom starts to laugh. We look at her confused. "It's okay." She says. "But you have to help me clean up!" Niall and I give a nervous laugh, and get to work.

Moments later, we are done cleaning the kitchen. "You guys can go up to the bathroom and wash off if you want. And you can wear some of Lucia's clothes, Alexia, since yours are soaked." Mrs. Goodwin tells us.

"Okay, thanks." I make my way up to Lucia's room and search her closet. Niall helps me pick out a knee length, light blue strapless dress with a bunch of pink, yellow and brown flowers on it. He also picks out a grey cardigan and grey flats. I go throw Lucia's underwear drawer, and pick out a blue underwear set to match the dress.

While outside, Niall and I had a water fight. The icy cold water felt nice during this hot, sunny summer day. But of course, Niall had to go back to his hotel and get dry clothes to put on. While he went to get clothes, I just stayed at Lucia's and talked to her mother. When Niall gets back, we just hang out in the kitchen.

We're sitting at the table when Lucia walks in. "Enough pies mom?" She teases as she sits at the table with us. "Hey guys." She smiles at us. "You look great, Lexi. I love that outfit!"

"Thanks." Niall says, and Lucia lifts an eyebrow.

"Niall helped me pick out the outfit." Lucia starts laughing.

"That's funny." Lucia says.

"So where's Danny?" I ask curiously.

"Studying." Lucia says simply.

"Studying? It's summer." I say. Lucia just grins at me.

"He got into Brockenhurst." She says excitedly.

"Oh fun!" I say. "I'm still waiting for my acceptance letter..."

"Oh, I didn't know you applied. Well hopefully you get in." Lucia says reassuringly.

"Thanks." I say, smiling at her.

All of a sudden, Niall's phone starts ringing. He takes it out of his pocket, and answers, 'Hey Josh." Niall listens to what Josh is saying. "Alexia Moon." I perk up at the mention of my name. "I know right?" Niall says into the phone. Josh says something else. "Okay man, bye." Then Niall hangs up.

I cling to his arm. "So... Who was it?" I ask curiously. Then I smile at him.

"Josh." Is all Niall says in reply.

"Josh Devine?!" Lucia asks excitedly. Niall nods. "That's awesome!"

"It's time to get ready for dinner!" Mrs. Goodwin calls out to us. I hope we're not having more pie... We go to the bathroom to wash our hands.
