Chapter 5

Y/n's POV
After I texted Evan I texted Hope I really needed to tell someone about the argument with Brian. 'Hey Hope can we talk' I texted her right away she responded 'Umm I'm about to hang out with Jaren, Y/n can't you work this out on your own this time?'. 'I just really need my sister right now. Brian and I got into a fight.' I responded with stressed. 'Yea I know he told us and to be honest Y/n that's all on you. Well I got to go.' Hope responded. What did Brian tell them....did I just lose both of my best friends? I was about to throw my phone when Evan responded back to my 'Hey' text. We ended texting for a bit more until I realized that I could talk to him. It's worth a shot. I ended texting him 'Hey Evan are you busy rn? If not wanna meet up at the park. I really need someone to talk to.' After a bit he texted me back 'yea of course' I ended up telling him to meet me in ten and quickly fixed myself and left the house texting my mom along the way.
After a short walk I reached the park and sat down on a bench near the lake. I sat there in silence thinking till I heard a familiar voice drag me out of my thought. "Hey Y/n ho.....wait are you okay?" Evan asked as he noticed that my tears I didn't even know I had. "I've had a bad day." I said as tears went into my eyes again. Evan pulled me in a hug and began playing with my hair. "Wanna talk about it?" Evan said as I nodded. "So Brian and I have acted like a couple for months now just none of us mentioned it to one another. Well the other day we went on a date and he kissed me. We decided to keep it a secret from our group and earlier we got into an argument of me hanging with you guys during the assembly." I rambled deciding to leave out the 'plan' part. I noticed Evan getting tense when I said Brian and I had a thing. Continuing I said "...he said we were never a thing...never gonna be a thing...and that the kiss meant nothing and that we were nothing...then he said to go hang out with you guys even after you broke my heart and that he had to fix it....then I told him that he broke my heart as well..and now like 15 minutes ago I texted Hope cause I wanted to talk to her and she got mad at me..and now I have no one" I finished crying. "Woah, well first of all you have me so you do have someone. Two Brian is an a-whole." Evan said pushing me carefully so I could look at him. I giggled making him smile once more. "HEY there's my Y/n!" Evan said making me giggle again. He wiped my tears away and took a look around. "Hey do you know where we are?" he said looking at me. I looked around and a smiled right away. This is where Evan took me on a 'date'. "Oh my god! This is where you took me on the 'date'." I said with air quotes, we both laughed. "Well yea I was how old...seven?" I nodded. "Yea I remember you asked my mom to take me. You know she still asks about you?" I told him. "Wait really? I'm so sorry y/n for what I did. I treated you so badly and I regret every minute of it...." he began to ramble. "Evan. It's okay it's in the pass let's leave it there." I told him placing my arm on his shoulder. He nodded. 
"Hey Y/n, let's go get ice cream. I know that's your favorite..well it was." he said standing holding his hand out for me to grab it. "Yea it still is. Why not. Let's go." I said grabbing his hand. My hand ended up staying in his hand throughout the whole walk to the ice cream shop. We got in and ordered our ice cream. After we sat down and just began to catch up with each other.
"You mean you got onto the volleyball team?!" Evan said with a proud smile. "Yea I guess all your nagging got me going" I said giggling. "I knew you could do it!" Evan said loud causing some looks. "Evan shushhhh" I said laughing. "Well I knew you could do it. You were really good. I'm going to your game, I wanna see how good you are." He said licking his ice cream.

Why are they hanging out together. Wait is this a date. No this can't be a date. What's going on? I will find out what is going on this isn't normal.

Evan's POV
After ice cream it got late so I decided to take Y/n home. We walked the whole way while talking. Half way there she got cold and I decided to give her my hoodie. When we finally reached her house I walked her all the way and she invited me into her house to say hello to her mother. When we were all friends I was her favorite. "Hey mom, we are home!" she yelled into the house. "You and Brian?" he mom asked from the kitchen. I saw her tense up "no mom I have Evan here." she said smiling once again. We hear her mom stop and go to the living room. "Oh my god. Evan honey your back!" she said yelling and hugging me. "Yup I'm back and hopefully to stay as well." I responded back smiling. "Well Evan should get going it's late. Hopefully I could hang out with you and the rest of the guys tomorrow." Y/n said looking down. "Yea I should go and of course Y/n" I said hugging both and leaving their house. I walked the whole way home smiling thinking about Y/n.

Y/n's POV
After Evan left my mom turned to me. "So was that a date?" my mom said wiggling her eyebrows. My eyes went wide. "No mom that was two friends catching up from lost time." I said walking up to my room. "Sure it was" was the last thing I heard from my mom before closing my door. I jumped on my bed and strolled on Instagram and saw a picture that made my heart drop. It was the whole group hanging out without me...wow they didn't even bother to invite me. My phone buzzed which brought me out of my thoughts. It was Evan texting me he got home safe. 'So did you see the picture' I asked. 'What picture?' Evan responded. 'Oh yea you don't follow the others. It was a picture of the whole group hanging out with each other without me. And I just realized that I have to walk to school since Brian isn't gonna take me and I can't explain to my mom what's going on. Plus I just have to hang out with them at lunch. Great.' I explain to Evan. I then decided to get ready for the night and ended laying. Evan responded back to me, 'I'll pick you up in the morning and take you home. Also you could go out for lunch right? You could hang out with the guys and we'll go out to eat.'. I smiled and responded 'I'm down'. I said falling asleep with a smile.
