"I'm gonna miss you so much!" Ally says, tears streaming down her cheeks. She pulls me into yet another hug, holding me tighter than I thought was possible. "And we're gonna FaceTime at least once a week right? And we'll send each other cute little letters, and we'll inform each other of everything happening in our lives. And don't forget to tell me about all the hot Aussie boys you meet, and you won't forget about me." she said so fast I didn't even catch it all.
I pull back from the hug holding onto her shoulders. "You'll always be my best friend. Always. I could never forget about you. I'll call you as soon as I land. I love you." I pull away from her tears now streaming down my face and pulling my backpack on, grabbing the handle of my carry-on suit case and walking to the security point. As the woman on duty checking tickets and passports ushers me up to her I look behind me, waving one last time to my mom and Ally.
Once I settle on the plane, before they tell us to turn on airplane mode I text my dad letting him know I've boarded and on my way.

"We've now landed in Sydney, please wait for the plane to come to a complete stop before turning on your phones again, and getting out of your seats and collecting your bags." The flight attendant on the intercom says, waking me up from my sleep. I left at 930pm and now it's 12:30am the next day I literally missed an entire day. I at least had a good sleep which I didn't think would happen on a long flight.Once the plane comes to a complete stop people are scrambling to get their bags and get off the plane. Me being in a window seat, near the back of the plane, and just waking up sits back and waits for people to get off. Once the majority have left I get up and grab my bag from the overhead compartment and head down to the entrance.
•••••••
After getting my luggage from the carousel I head to the exit. I see my dad waving at me right away with a woman beside him holding up a sign with my name on it waving enthusiastically, a boy around my age with blonde hair standing beside them on his phone."Hey Meredith! How was your flight? I'm Jackie and this is Luke" the woman, who I now know as Jackie, said nudging the Boy beside her. He looks up for a moment, gives me a little wave before looking back down at his phone.
"My flight was good, slept a lot of it surprisingly." I say.
My dad and Jackie each grab one of my three suitcases from the trolly they were on and I grab the last. Walking towards the parking garage. They're all talking about random things that I wasn't paying attention to. The garage was boiling hot, back home it was winter so I surprisingly enjoyed the heat. I wasn't a fan of the cold and always dreamt of living somewhere warm my entire life, guess that kinda bit me in the bum.
Once we all settled in my dads SUV, Luke took the AUX and started playing All Time Low. "I like your choice of music, Backseat Serenade is my personal favourite, other than The Irony Of Choking On A Life Saver." I say, Luke smiled at me and went back to his phone. Well so much for that.
I text Ally letting her know I land, and see I have a few messages from TLL.

Hey Mike, sorry the plane ride was over 24 hours long and I slept most of it. Also didn't have the wifi package. Just landed a little while ago. Heading to my dads where I'll prolly pass out again. Talk to you later :)
