How long had it been since then?
Since... you lost him?
Hours? Days? Or week?
You don't know.
After that major pensive event, you already lost the track of time.
All you know thyself, you still keep on blending with the mob of Kamome students, and study to maintain your grades on shore.
However, what became the unusual change in your unvarying daily routine is that instead of patrolling around the building and do your share of works in the student council room, you choose to mourn at the rooftop in contrary.
Just like now.
At the current time, it's lunch break. Everyone were probably gathered at the school cafeteria to stuff their paunches.
Unlike the rest, you established yourself at your boundary. Heads up and hands leaning on the railing, you watch the lumpy soft clouds pass by at the bright summer sky.
It's such a lovely day, but your gloomy mood opposes the beautiful climatic conditions.
Suddenly, you hear the rooftop door opens, followed by light footsteps approaching.
"Y-Y/N-senpai?" A gentle well-known voice rang in your ears.
"What is it, Nene?" Was your candid reply without bothering to spare a mere glance that slightly taken her back.
The usual welcoming genial intonation of you weren't there anymore. Yashiro would be lying if she say that it didn't made her heart pang.
"S-senpai, we're worried about you. You're not stopping by at the restroom nor show up to eat lunch with us." She pursed her lips, looking down at your back.
"We barely see you around. You're not your usual self a-anymore. Kou had been on the same phase as you but we've helped him. Please if you're not okay, you can talk to us... to me... just don't let those feelings get bottled up!"
Humorless, you let out a chuckle, murmuring as you reminisces. "Funny how Sakura said the same things when she also came here."
You slowly face the daikon, forcing a smile to ghost on your dead features. "Thanks for the concern Yashiro... but I don't think I can move on anytime soon. Itjust..." you breath out wistfully. "Hurts so much."
She clutched the skull brooch pinned on her chest. Teary-eyed, she take one step closer, wrapping her arms around your torso.
"I hope you get better soon, senpai! Just... just please know that I'm- we're here to help you out if you need us!"
You heaved a sigh, softly patting the back of her head. "Thanks, I really appreciate it but I need some more time with myself to think. It's not that easy, you know?"
Mitsuba means a lot to you.
He's the very first one to be there for you since the beginning.
And losing him is also losing a major chapter that helped you grow in your story.
And losing that takes away an important piece of yourself, leaving you lost, depressed, and confused.
She pulled away the hold onto your right wrist, grasping it delicately like you're a fragile valuable piece that needs to be treated with much more extra care.
"Can you do that later, senpai? The others really wanted to see if you're okay!" She quickly let go of you and smack her palms together. "Please?"
Scruntinizing onto thr round glassy ruby colored portion of her eyes, you couldn't help yourself but to giggle. "Stop being adorable, I might say yes."
