"Well, uh..." we started. "I'm in sales. Yeah. You can call it sales." Nicki nervously smiled. "You kids seem a little unsure." Dad lifted his eyebrow. "I'm sure of it." she smiled again.
"Y'all don't seem too sure." Mama looked suspiciously at us. I shook my head and started drinking my drink.
The waitress came over with our food. Damn, took you long enough.
The sound of our forks clinking sounded around the table. It was dead quiet.
Ma broke the silence. "So, are you two really serious about each other?" she asked us. We nodded our heads.
"So, Nicki, you saying you would never cheat?" dad asked. "Of course not. I could never hurt someone that is dear to my heart." she smiled at me. I blushed, looking away.
"So anymore questions before we order because we are starving." I put my hand on my stomach.
"Nope." Mama shook her head.
The waitress walked over to our table. "Ready to order?" she asked us.
"Yes. Can I have the chicken? With a salad?" I ordered. Yes, I am a weird eater. "I'll have the same." Nicki ordered.
About 10 minutes later, she came back with our orders. Take so damn long.
"This is real good." Nicki exclaimed. "Yeah. Best restaurant in town." I smiled. "Can we come here more often?" she asked me. "Of course." I smiled.
We kinda tuned mom and 'dad' out for the rest of the time we were at the restaurant.
We left, went to a couple more places to have fun. "Alright. Bye, Christopher. Bye, Nicki." Ma smiled as she kissed my cheek.
"Bye, son. Bye, pretty girl." he smiled as he kissed her hand. I shot him a look. He shook my before we left.
"That went really well." she smiled as we got in the car. "Yeah. But you know we're gon have to tell them sooner or later." I told her.
"We can solve that problem later in the future." she rubbed the back of my hand with her thumb. I smiled and kissed her lips before driving off.
