The moon was out and the stars were settling in the sky. Derek and I stayed at the bbq for a bit and I truly enjoyed myself. Folks from all ages were there dancing and eating without the drama. People were down to earth and I got the chance to meet Cams family. I reflected on Jasmine getting choked out but she didn't deserve that though still I truly didn't want to stop him. Really Derek telling me he was on probation is what saved her. Sitting at the picnic table Cam mom came over again for the 3rd time to ask me if I wanted to be her spades partner.
"Dani come on girl you can be my spades partner because these old ladies can't play."
The old lady from the table sitting on the right argued back with Cam mom.
"Oh forget you heffa you get mad every time you lose and got the damn nerve to switch partners."
Everyone at the table laughed in unison and so did I. Derek walked over since he was finish talking to Cam. I noticed his eyes were red so he was probably high. He called Cam over and introduce him to me. Cam momma spoke while holding her son arm for support because she was feeling good herself. Before she could get a word out Derek excuse himself to the bathroom. We still continued on our conversation.
"Cam she is beautiful and the perfect match for Derek. Look at her she's nice, smart, got a good job and no kids and I like her.
"Well I'm Cam nice to meet you Danielle. And if this lady like you well so do I. Listen Danielle whatever you do don't hurt my boy he been through enough as you may know already. Still I wish you both the best."
I thought it was amusing them saying that we were together but we wasn't. I take a shot of my Jack that I was sipping on. The conversation was growing into more about me than him. I just hope no one brought up my dad name. She looked at me over and over again like I was familiar to her.
" Danielle what's your last name?"
"Jackson... I said hesitantly."
Jackson she repeated she went to sit down. After 5 minutes me and Cam talked about Derek she came back over again. Now she was irking my damn nerves. She grabbed my hands and smiled before speaking.
"Randy Jackson or should I say Snowman is your father and Selena is your momma right?"
I took her hands off mines and left trying to met Derek before he came over. My father told me not to come and I did anyways. I was more disappointed in myself than anything. I really didn't know her or anyone's intentions of me at this point. Derek took my hands and began trying to slow dance with me. So I stepped aside and didn't bother dancing with him.
"Derek I want to go home now."
"Why Danielle what happen he asked with urgency."
"Cam moms know who my dad and mom are so right now I'm in danger."
Derek had a confused look on his face when he stepped back.
"Danielle I don't know how to tell you this but your dad is like a godfather to us here. Truly nobody wants to hurt you they just want to know who you are since we chilling together. I mean all the people here grew up with them or me so I promise you nothing is gone happen okay."
Shaking my head I agreed and we went back over to Cam moms. Lately Derek gave me the feeling of saftey I use to get as a child when I was with my dad. After my mom went to jail my father spent more time in the street and I stayed with my aunt. My aunt was good to me I just hated my father for making me me go. Eventually I learned my father couldn't teach me to be a lady only a women could do that. Anyways, I apologized and got in on a spades game with Derek beside me coaching me through.

My birthday was a few days away but I planned a nice surprise for him in advance. I was at work when my phone ring and KO brought the mail into me. The shift didn't start yet but today wasn't a good day. My hair appointment was missed, tire bust, and to top it off I ain't had no dick in a week. While looking from my glass window I saw Rose enter the building in her cook attire. I rolled my eyes at her and placed my attention on Drea. After my dad started the club Drea and I use to give my co worker Rose hell because she ran the grill area and couldnt cook. I mean ahe came in thinking she was bug shit. Drea left out while throwing me my pen back. Getting up from my desk to go into the kitchen to see Rose I headed into her office. I didn't think Drea was getting to me but I needed to probably clear things up with Derek soon. I'm not gone stand by while Rose throw herself at him.
