Walking with the doctor he began to ask me about how well I knew Jasmine. I explain to him that we dated but we ended and she moved on. We turned the corner to go into the room when I saw Mr. Randy coming out. Before going in he grabbed me and ask for a word before seeing her. The doctor left us and went down the hall to another room. We stood beside her door and he shook my hand.
"You're a good man but I wouldn't expect anymore out of you than to stand by her. Listen if my daughter gets up here and she know your here than know that she's going to wild out trust I know her. So be truthful and honest but stand your ground young man."

He tapped my shoulder and walked off I went into her room staring at the iv pole. And beside her laid a baby in a bassinet with a baby blue onesie on. I walked over to go and pick the baby up and held him. As I looked at the baby there was a name on the bassinet that read Shane King. Shock at the name tag I didn't know what to say. The was her grandfathers name and I agreed to it after finding out she was pregnant. The baby whinnied a little till he awoke Jasmine. She looked at me smiling as best as she could. So I handed the baby off to her.
"He's handsome and tall looking like his father I told Jasmine."
"Yeah but sad enough he won't come see him. Ive been starved and beaten since I left you for him. I mean Omar has his good days and his bad ones but the bad out weight the good. I got to admit to you that I did try to set you up or Omar told me he'll kill my baby. Derek when I tell you I will do anything for my baby I mean that. I nodded my head and was at lost of words. Omar didn't know what he was going to miss out on. The doctor came in while we was talking saying that Jasmine has a hole in her heart. He explained that surgery would have to take place in a few hours in order for her to live. He stood by her besside reading over surgery documents to be read or sign. Shortly she got to the part stating fpr her to sign all the paper and it'll be set. Down the hallway my attentions was took ny hearing someone arguing with a nurse about getting to Jasmines room to see it was Danielle. Between two security officers she sported a adisas sweatsuit pants, a crop top, and off white pumas. She got loose darting for the inside of the room and went to grab me by my shirt trying to hit me but I pinned her down arguing with her in a hospital chair.
"Stop this Dani now is not the time she just had the baby. And I know your upset but I can explain!"
I let her go so she could speak and get everything off her chest as the nursing staff watched.
"Explain what how you fucked her last night I know you did so it's over! And bitch you think you got shot just know I'm going to beat your ass for fucking my man!"
Jasmine sat watching holding the baby in confusion. I threw my hands in the air and walked towards the window. Danielle walked out the room with a red face fighting the tears running down her cheeks and her hair in a messy bun. I turned to watch her leave. After it all was over everyone went back to work. Jas kissed the babyfeet eyeballing me before suggesting I go after Danielle when I wouldn't shut up about my mistake. So I ran down the hallway in search of Dani all the way around the hospital till I ran outside to see her dad speaking to her. Walking to his car her back was to me with her dad staring me in the face as he tried to consol her.
"Dani you can't ask him to choose between helping his ex he just ended things with including the fact a child he thought was his. You got to give things time and stop forcing things without a title yet. You understand?"
Shaking her head in agreement Dani father pulled a tissue out his suit jacket giving it to her. She wiped her tears turning around to see me. I went over to hug her and ask if we could talk privately. I lead her into the building inside the cafeteria and we had a seat. Before sitting down I got us both a cup of coffee and sat by her. I told her everything from me seeing her and Haven at her father's house to Jasmine being shot. Reflecting on all of those things while laughing and joking about how silly she was wilding out. Danielle and I headed back to Jas room when the doctor met us in the hall. He ask did we get things workout and cleared his throat.

"Mr. Jiles I'm sorry to tell you but Jasmine died during surgery prep. And she left the baby to you since she has no other relatives.
I just hugged Dani tight as I could not wanting to let her go. Shock that Jas left the baby for me to raise. Plus Jasmine was in a better place and didn't have to suffer anymore. It broke my heart her son wouldn't get to know her. But each day I promised myself to let him know how much she loved him and what she was like. At that moment I truly known that I forgave her for everything and was ready to take on the responsibility of being a good parent.
