Clang!

A metal vent cover fell to the ground, creating a racket so loud that it echoed through the room and the space beyond. Boboiboy tensed his shoulders, bracing for any incoming footsteps and open fire.

"Dude!" Fang hissed. "What makes you think it's a good idea to kick that vent open?"

"It's stuck to the frame!" Boboiboy hissed back. "And I won't have known that this vent is like 30 feet off the ground!"

The duo stayed still for a few more moments. When no movements were heard, they lowered themselves to the ground with a vine Boboiboy grew out of the cracks of the vent tube.

The vent seem to be connected to a boiler room. Rusty pipes criscrossed the span of the ceiling, covered in mold. Metal tanks the size of three adult armspans lined the walls of the room, with more pipes leading out of them.

"These boilers are not working." Fang noted, pointing at the pressure meters hooked to the boilers. "This place is probably abandoned."

"That, or the bunker is warm enough so they do not need to keep this place running." Ochobot drifted towards the entryway. "Either way, there shouldn't be anyone patrolling this area. There's an air vent opposite this room. We can get to Kaizo's holding cell through that."

Ochobot yanked open the door, revealing two elvish-looking young man by the door. One of them have their hand raised to where the doorknob should be, as if he's going to open the door. Both of them are wearing dark blue military clothing, and one of them have a silver rifle slung on their shoulder.

Both sides stared at each other in shock until Ochobot coughed.

"Well? Restrain them!"

Before the elf could unslung his rifle, tendrils of darkness shot up from his shadow and bound him in place. The other elf pulled out a hunting knife from his belt and slashed it at Ochobot, cutting a gash in Ochobot's display.

"Ochobot! Get back!" Boboiboy yelled. The concrete floor around the elf erupted, warping him in vines. The weight of the vines dropped the elf onto the floor, the impact jolting the knife from his hand.

"Dias!" The elf warped in shadow tendrils gasped. He tried to shrug off his bindings, only to have them tighten more around him.

"Bring 'em in, boys." Ochobot waved at Boboiboy and Fang. Both teens waved their hands inwards, sending the trapped elves crashing into the boiler room.

"Ochobot, are you okay? Can you still see?" Boboiboy plucked Ochobot out of the air right after he closed the door.

"This is just the display, man. Just need to change it when we get back." Ochobot shrugged.

Fang kicked the hunting knife into the wall. "I thought you said no one would patrol this area?"

"Special case?" Ochobot freed himself from Boboiboy's grasp. "Strenghtened defences means that old bastard doesn't want anything to get in the way of something important. Is there anything else going on beside that experiment...?"

"Ahem. Language, Ochobot." Boboiboy coughed.

"Ah, shit." Ochobot slapped his approximate forehead. "Either way, we can't do the vent-climbing thing again. God knows what they will do if they heard us."

"What's the worse that could happen?" Boboiboy asked.

"I dunno, they could fire at that part of the vent before asking questions?" Ochobot guessed.

The Powersphere lashed out all of a sudden, his palm hitting Boboiboy in the chest and pushing the teen backwards just as a volley of bullets sliced through the space where Boboiboy's head would've been.

"Just like that." Ochobot pointed out calmly.

The gunfire comes fom the elf wrapped in Fang's shadows. He's somehow gotten his fingers into the trigger, and has levelled his back with Boboiboy's head. If it hadn't been for Ochobot's quick wits, his skull would have been turned into a beehive.

"Oh, no, you don't." Fang twisted his wrist, sending the elf falling backwards. The jolt triggered the gun to fire, sending a bullet whizzing past the elf's ear.

"Ah." The elf gasped as blood trickled out of his right ear. The shockwave from the bullet damaged his eardrum as it shot past, and the shockwave stunned him a little.

"Logi!" The other elf exclaimed. The vines wrapped around him tensed, threatening to break.

"He suddenly become strong!" Boboiboy tensed. He can feel the strands of thie vines snapping one after another.

"What's those smoke coming out of his body?" Fang leveled his hand at the elf, ready to restrain him if he break out.

"What smoke?" Ochobot asked, then slapped the top of his head. "Ah, shitty camera eye."

The vines were ripped apart in one swift pull. The elf stood up shakily, his eyes fixated on Fang.

"Dodge to the right!" Ochobot yelled as the elf charged forward, right arm outstretched. Fang dodged to the right as the elf plunged into the boiler tank behind him, rippin a chunk of metal off the container.

"What kind of power is this?!" Boboiboy yelled. He willed another forest of vibes to grow around the elf, but they were easily ripped apart.

"Dias! Stop!" The elf with the rifle have overcame the stun, and is now watching his companion's display of power in horror.

"Boboiboy! Use your Earth powers!" Fang yelled from the other side of the room. He have melted into shadows, but somehow the elf is still able to find him. He is pummelting the darkness behind the boiler tanks, shattering the wall and flooring as he go.

"Yo, dude." Ochobot drifted towards the other elf. "You know how to shut down your friend, right?"

"Yeah, I can stop him." The elf nodded.

"Earthen Prison!" Boboibiy raised his arms and the earth erupted around the berserk elf, encasing him in slabs of rock. It wasn't long before noises of rock shattering echoed from behind the stones, indicating the prisoner is breaking his way out.

"Yo, Fang boy." Ochobot turned towards the darker puddle of shadows in one corner. "Release this dude here."

"What? No!" Red light emerged from within the darkness, as if someone opened their eyes.

"Then have fun with the dude over there." Ochobot shrugged. "He looks like he wants to kill you, by the way."

A fist punctured the thick slab of rock, its skin bulging with veins.

"Do I add another layer?" Boboiboy asked.

"Your next layer won't last as long as this." Ochobot reminded.

"Okay, fine!" Fang yelled. The bindings on the elf dissolved into shadows. The elf stood up immediately and run towards the stone structure, ignoring the shrapnel and debris produced.

"Dias!" The elf grabbed his companion's hand just as it punctured another hole in the structure. "It's fine now. Look, I'm okay."

The fist loosened, then cradled the other hand, it's thumb caressing the back of the hand.

"I'm glad you're... okay." The elf said.

Boboiboy undid the Earthen Prison, and the formerly berserk elf fell into his companion's arms.
