Voices.

"..."

It's loud.

Kaizo tried opening his eyes. The lids felt heavy, as if somebody had placed weights on them.

"...stabilised?"

Kaizo tried moving his arms. His body felt a bit lighter, but he was unable to make any movement.

"Sir Maging said it is safe to be injected, and we shouldn't worry."

Injection?

Kaizo managed to nudge his eyelids open slightly. He was first greeted by a brilliant white light, where after his eyes got used to it, revealed a high ceiling. Big and small tubes crisscrossed high and low, carrying unknown substance. Mold covered those tubes, some even eathing through the material.

"I really hope the serum worked this time." The first voice sighed. Sound of glass knocking against metal sounded.

"Come on, it's just an injection." The second voice sound cheerful. "How bad could it be?"

"You don't know what happened last time, do you?" The former shook his head. "Lord Sanguine was furious that the experiment failed once again, and he ordered everyone participating in the experiment killed. How else do you think we get this job so easily?"

"...Oh. I hope this serum finally works then." The tension in the room seem to rise.

Mustering all of his energy, Kaizo turned his head towards the source of the voices.

"I would be back home by now, if they didn't tighten the security all of a sudden." A man with the head of a charmeleon flicked his tongue restlessly. "I hope someone come through and get us out of here. I'll go insane if I stay here for another minute."

"Stop dreaming, Karl." A man with tentacles for arms patted the charmeleon on the shoulder. "You see the army yourself. Ain't nobody is getting through that."

"Yeah, you're right." Karl the charmeleon retracted his tongue. "Let's get this over with. If Lord Sanguine gets mad again at least I don't have to go through this nightmare for another minute."

The tentacle-armed man turned towards Kaizo. "Oh, look, he's awake."

Karl lifted the syringe in his hands, filled with a thick red liquid. He turned towards Kaizo too. "Sorry, man. We have to do this."

"You... don't have to." Those words alone drained Kaizo. It was all he could do to not pass out.

"It doesn't matter either way; we'd all die." Karl said as the tentacle man rolled up one leg of Kaizo's pants, exposing his calf. He brought the syringe towards the limb, the tip piercing the skin.

"No..." Kaizo widened his eyes. He remembered the bodies pushed into the incinerator back at the TAPOPS headquarters. Those limp, seemingly lifeless bodies. Bodies of the agents who've went before him.

They were alive, but they might as well be dead.

"If we are destined to die, you are coming with us." Karl said softly, his words of a madman. He pressed down on the piston, injecting the liquid into Kaizo's body.

"Anchor the ship here."

"What? How?" Fang asked.

"Jesus Christ." Ochobot mumbled. He yanked the joystick from Fang's hand, then typed so fast on the dashboard Boboiboy think his fingers might tangle up.

"Ship position now locked at altitude 3000 kilometers, pivot at gravitational source of Kitakaze Planet."

"That's... wow." Fang said. "I didn't know this is a thing."

"Maybe if you actually sit down and talk to the aeroengineers, you'll know." Ochobot said proudly.

"When have you go talk to the aeroengineers?" Boboiboy asked. "You are with us most of the time."

"See? You said 'most of the time'." Ochobot pointed out. "Of course I was somewhere else doing something else then, no?"

"Okay, stop." Fang said before Boboiboy could counter the Powersphere's words. "Now how are we gonna get down there? Using the escape pods?"

"Well, duh." Ochobot rolled his eyes. "I could teleport us to the ground too, but I won't be able to get everyone back up here."

"Escape pod it is." Fang unlatched his seatbelt and grab his bag. Boboiboy folow suit, and the duo entered the pods.

"Sit tight." Ochobot entered the landing coordinates into the control panel, then slipped into Boboiboy's pod before the door closes. The pods whirred, and with a hiss detached from the spaceship and fall towards the planet, being pulled by its gravity.

"Oh wait!" Fang exclaimed, his voice projected through a communication device built into the pods. "I forgot to turn on the camouflage film!"

"The ship would be out of power by the time we got back." Ochobot replied. "I turned on the radiowave absorbent instead. ain't nobody gonna look up and see the ship."

"What? When did you do that?"

"About the same time I anchor the ship."

"Okay... I didn't know that old ship could handle two commands at once."

"It could run three, actually. I even decreased the oxygen output. The remaining amount should be enough till we get back."

"..." Both teenagers were at a loss for words.

"Hey, hey." Ochobot clapped his hands. "We have more important things to worry about than the capabilities of our spaceship. For instance, how to get in and out without being spotted?"

"Oh. I actually have data on this one." Fang brought up an interface on his powerband, sending Boboiboy a copy while he was at it. "See the mountain over there? The one with a snow cap? There is an abandoned vent at the foot of it, due East. We can get in and out from there."

Ochobot studied the map. "You're right; nobody have been near that since a long time ago. Let's go that way."

Boboiboy stared at the powersphere in his arms. He decided that there is actually something wrong with Ochobot. Something very wrong.
