Tangled: Rapunzel's little sister

Chapter 12

Eugene was in his cell as he paces around. he was stressed that he was separated from Rapunzel and (Y/n). He stopped his pacing and went to look out the window. The door to his cell open, the Captain and a few guards were there. 

"Let's get this over with, Rider." The Captain said. "Where are we going?" Eugene asked. The captain didn't say thing, but his silence made Eugene lightly touched his throat. "Oh..." 

Back in Rapunzel's tower, Gothel was taking the last of the flowers from Rapunzel's hair. "There. It never happened. Now, wash up for dinner. I'm making hazelnut soup." Gothel tried to cheer her up. She sighs. "I really did try, Rapunzel. I tried to warn you what was out there. The world is dark and selfish and cruel. If it finds even the slightest ray of sunshine, it destroys it." Gothel closes the curtains to Rapunzel's room.

Rapunzel hung her head in sadness as looks at the gift Eugene bought her. She heard Pascal squeaking at her as he turns blue to show he was with her. She lays back on her bed as she holds up the small cloth in her hands. She looks up at a her artwork, but she suddenly began to have these strange feeling coming to her. She looks at the cloth and back at her art work. She looks more closely at her art when she suddenly realized that all of her artwork had the same sun symbol. She stood up as realization was flooding her mind. She remembers seeing the sun symbol from her crib and memories of the king and queen come back to her. The murals of the lost princess and (Y/n) comes back to her. Her last memory is when she and (Y/n) were putting on the crowns in front of the mirrors. Rapunzel gasped as she finally realized who she really was.  

Eugene was being taken away to be executed. As he continues to walk, he spotted the Stabbington brothers in their own cell. Anger started to grow inside. Eugene pushes the guards away and run towards Sideburns. He grabs a hold of him by the shirt. "How did you know about her? Tell me, now!" Eugene demands. "It wasn't us! It was the old lady!" Sideburns confessed. 

"Old lady?" Eugene was confused until he realized it was Gothel. The guards grabbed a hold of him and took him away. Eugene tried to fight back. "Wait, no, wait! You don't understand, she's in trouble! Wait!" 

Gothel was at the bottom of the stairs as she waited for Rapunzel. "Rapunzel? Rapunzel, what's going on up there? Are you all right?" Gothel climbed up the stairs. 

Rapunzel opens her curtains. "I'm the lost princess." She mumbles. "Please, speak up, Rapunzel. You know how I hate the mumbling." Gothel said. 

"I am the lost Princess." Rapunzel spoke louder.  "Aren't I? Did I mumble, Mother? Or should I even call you that?" She glared at Gothel. 

Gothel was shocked at first, but she quickly tried to change the subject. "Rapunzel, do you even hear yourself? Why would you ask such a ridiculous question?" She tried to hug her, but Rapunzel pushes her away. "It was you! It was all you!" Rapunzel said. "Everything I did was to protect you." Gothel stated. 

Rapunzel climbs down the stairs. "I've spent my entire life hiding from people who would use me for my power...when I should have been hiding from you!" 

"Where will you go? They won't be there for you." Gothel said. 

"What did you do to them?" 

"That criminal is to be hanged for his crimes. And that lost princess will stay lost since she has no one to be with her."

Rapunzel gasped of what has happened to (Y/n) and Eugene. "No." 

"Now, now, it's all right. Listen to me. All of this is as it should be." Gothel tried to pet Rapunzel's hair. Rapunzel grabbed her hand. "No! You were wrong about the world. And you were wrong about me! And I will never let you use my hair again!" 

Gothel pulls her hand away from Rapunzel and she accidentally breaks the mirror behind her. Rapunzel glares at her one more time before she walks away. "You want me to be the bad guy? Fine, now I'm the bad, guy." Gothel said darkly as she stalked towards Rapunzel. 

Eugene tries to fight back, but the guards had finally stopped him. He thought that his life would end on this day. Suddenly, he spotted a small ceramic unicorn. Just before the Captain could set into another hall, all the doors slammed shut. 

"What's this? Open up!" The Captain pounds on the door. The window slide open to reveal Shorty. "What's the password?" Shorty asked before he closed the door. "What?" The Captain was confused. "Nope." Shorty chuckles and closes the door. "Open this door!" The Captain orders. "Not even close." Shorty closes the door one last time. 

"You have three seconds One... Two..." Without the Captain noticing, all the guards were being taken away from Eugene. "Three..." He looks back and only saw Eugene with him. From behind, Attila knocks him out with a frying pan. 

"Frying pans! Who knew, right?" Eugene jokes. 

The back doors burst open as more guards come after them. Attila grabs Eugene and they both run the other direction. The guards were on their tail, but they stopped when Ulf was doing his mime act. They were confused when he looked at the side. Vladimir was coming towards them as he was bellowing. They screamed like girls as he crashes into them, leaving Ulf 'shock'. 

Eugene and the other thugs made it outside, but they were surround by guards coming around them. Hook Hand grabs him and placed him next to him. 

"Head down" Hook Hand instructed. 

"Head down." Eugene repeats. 

"Arms in."

"Arms in." 

"Knees apart." 

"Knees apart. Knees apart? Why do I need to keep my knees apart..." Before Eugene could finish his question, one of the thugs jumps on the cart he was one and he flies off the castle walls. He screams in fear until he lands safely on Maximus.

"Hey, Eugene. What took you so long?" (Y/n) jokes as she sits in front of Eugene. 

"Max. (Y/n). You guys brought them here?" Eugene asked. "Of course we did. We couldn't let anything bad happen to you." (Y/n) smiles as Brielle and Maximus nods. "Thank you." Eugene thanked. "No need to thank us." (Y/n) waves it off. "No really, thank you. I feel maybe this whole time Max and I were just misunderstanding one another. And we really just..." Eugene stopped when he saw that was getting a look from everyone. "Yeah your right. We should go."

More guards came up and began to fire arrows at them. Maximus rode off as they were being followed. Eugene and (Y/n) saw that Maximus was about to jump. They tried to call out to him, but Maximus ignores them and jumps off the castle. Eugene and (Y/n) screamed for their lives as they were high in the sky. Maximus was able to hand on some other building and hops back to the ground. 

"Maximus, never do that again!" (Y/n) shook in fear as Brielle held on to her shoulder for her dear life. "Okay, Max. Lets see how fast you can run." Eugene said as they rode off faster to get Rapunzel back.
