The Call

*One Year ago*

That morning as I woke up, I look down an see my beautiful an amazing Girlfriend Emilie, she's just waking up as well.

Caleb-- "Good Morning Beautiful."

Emilie-- "Good Morning babe." She replies an then smiles.

"I wish you didn't have to leave today" Emilie says with a slight frown on her face. I look back at her an hug her tight, "I don't think I'm gonna be gone that long, an I will be okay baby. I'll be coming back in one piece." Emilie looks at me an smiles an pulls me closer, "I love you so much" Emilie says to me, an I can tell that she's fighting off tears. "I love you so much too." I reply as I wipe the tears that have fallen down her face.

Then the rest of the day her an I spent it goofing around until it came to an hour before I had to start leaving to get on the plane to go back to Afghanistan. "Babe, it's time." I said to Emilie an she started to break down, I held her close while she cried in my chest.

Emilie-- "I'm gonna miss you so much, Caleb.... Promise to call me an to write me."

She smiles slightly at me an says. "I never could forget it." I smiled at her an kissed her. I could taste the salt taste from her tears. I grabbed my bags an she waited out in the truck to come with me.

That was over a year ago when I left. This morning as I woke from an uneasy sleep, I hear my laptop going off an I can hear Emilies voice coming from it. She was video calling me. I answered it an Emilie looked as beautiful as always

Emilie-- "Hey there my handsome king." she says with a smile.

Caleb-- "good morning my amazing an beautiful queen. You getting ready for work babe?" I say with a smile on my face.

Emilie-- "Yeah, an Nathan came over to check on me. He told me to tell you he said "hi" an he misses you."

Caleb-- "Tell him I miss you too, an I love an miss you baby." I tell her with a bigger smile on my face

Emilie-- "I love an miss you too babe, well I have to go to work, I try to call you when I get off."

Caleb-- "Okay babe, I love you an I'll talk to you later." I start putting on my jacket an gear to get ready.

I was trying so hard not to tell her my good news, about me coming home here soon. Then I get the rest of my gear an start going to meet up with the rest of my team.
