"I wonder what they would do in a situation like this."
Sitting alone in his office is Professor Stein who is smoking a cigarette. After the various events, such as the increasing defeats of student and staff along with Crona's loss, the stress of it all is getting to him and he decided that a smoke will do him some good. Not only that, but he was getting recent flashbacks ever since Marie read the story of Jack and Lillie to the kids.
"You seem down Franken."
Stein looked over to see Marie who happen to walk into his office with papers in hand.
"Well, I'm feeling nostalgic." Stein said as he leans back in his chair. "Ever since you told that story about Lillie and Jack to the kids."
Marie looked down in sorrow.
"It was decided that when the incident happened, Lord Death decided to keep any evidence hidden despite all their achievements." Marie said sadly as she put down the papers. "Still, what connection did you find with the Devil Weapon, Lillie and Jack?"
Stein went through a file that he recently picked up and went through it. After a while, he picked up an old photo and gave it to Marie.
"This is...a picture of children?" Marie asked as she looked at the photograph.
"Did you know that instead of becoming a Death Scythe, they became owners of an orphanage after graduation?" Stein asks. Marie nodded 'no' in response. "Well, they got permission from Lord Death to run one and they formed a orphanage that target kids who were left behind because they developed weapon abilities."
"That's cute." Marie said as she looks at the kids with a smile. "Is there something in here that could lead us to the culprit?"
"I believe so."

Marie and Stein turned to see Sid and Naigas who were coming inside the office. As of now, they and all the other injured students are fully healed and some or even going back to taking new missions. Sid took the photo from Marie's hand, much to her surprise, and he and Naigas searched the photo.
"Marie, did Crona ask you about any cases of Weapon partners who killed their miesters?" Sid asks.
Marie knew where this is heading. "He did, but that is not what happened in that incident."
"Maybe not for those who know the truth." Sid admitted as he put the photo on the Stein's desk. "But how about from a 5 year old's point of view?"
Marie gasps and paled. "You don't mean to tell me..."
