Connor and I chased Sierra down the street as quickly as we could. All I focused on was keeping her in my sight, even as she tried to lose me by going through buildings and alleys on the streets of Valedon. Connor must not have been able to keep up with me, because I felt his aura fading behind me. I must have followed Sierra through half of the entire city, because she didn't seem like she was going to stop running any time soon. I made sure I was right on her tail, even if I was still several hundred feet behind her. Suddenly, I could hear the roaring of an aircraft's engines coming towards me, and looked up to see an unmarked dropship fly over my head, towards Valedon's airport. Sierra also looked up to see the aircraft, and turned towards the airport as soon as she saw a turn in the street. I had to cut her off. I turned the corner of the street next to me, then threw myself to the rooftops with an aura blast from my feet. I rushed across the roofs of the city as fast as I could, until I felt Sierra's aura of darkness behind me. I jumped down in front of her, then formed my aura blade that had the shape of a short sword called a seax. It reminded me of a cleaver, if it was two feet longer and had a pointed tip that extended past a curve a third of the way down its length. In the past year, it had served me well against monsters and Shadows alike, but I had never had the chance to use it against a Shadow as powerful as Sierra, or a Tuatha. I knew that Sierra was stronger than me, though, and wouldn't hand over Dad because I had an aura blade, now.

"Nice knife," she mocked. She threw Dad to the ground, then formed her claymore-shaped dark aura blade.

"That's my father you have there, Sierra," I hissed.

"I noticed," Sierra understood. "You must have taken after your mother, because Connor looks more like him than you do."

"What do you want with him?" I demanded.

"We can't have a proper war with two leaders on one side, can we?" asked Sierra.

"What?" I snapped.

"Forget it," Sierra sighed. "Everything is too black and white to you, anyway."

Suddenly, she warped right in front of me, swinging her claymore. I frantically raised my seax to deflect her attack, and parried it as quickly as I could. I then threw her away from me with an aura blast before taking a swing with my own blade. My seax only scratched her dark aura shield, but if I hit it enough, it would break eventually. That would only happen if I attacked as quickly and aggressively as possible, though, and gave Sierra no chance to attack back. I began to warp around her over and over again, swinging my aura blade and warping again before Sierra could counterattack. I could see her dark aura shield becoming weaker with every strike I managed to land, and she tried her damndest to hit me with her dark aura blade, but couldn't. After one more hit, her dark aura shield shattered completely. I warped in front of Sierra one more time, thrusting my seax forward. There was terror and dread in her red eyes as my aura blade came closer to piercing her armor, but my arm was suddenly grabbed, and I was thrown across the street, and I crashed into the wall of one of the buildings before my sword could even scratch Sierra. I quickly jumped to my feet, seeing the same Tuatha woman that destroyed our truck standing with Sierra.

"That looked close, Sierra," she teased.

"Oh, don't even start," Sierra hissed. "This brat is the target's daughter."

"Oh, really?" the Tuatha woman grinned. "In that case..."

She looked to where Dad was lying after Sierra threw him there, but he was gone. Suddenly, there was a gunshot, and a plasma round struck the Tuatha woman, causing an explosion to erupt from where it met its mark. Through the dust and smoke, I looked to see where it came from. It was Dad! He had a high-powered magnum pistol that was enchanted with a crystal of flame malakyte, with smoke coming out of the muzzle.
