For several days, I couldn't bring myself to speak to Morgan, sensing the despair from her, as she locked herself in one of the rooms in Safe Haven's quarters. I wasn't there to save her father in Valedon, and I wasn't sure what I could say to make things better. I knew that a friend's words could make her feel at least a little better, but I couldn't change the fact that her father was just killed. Still, it would be better than allowing her to remain alone, with no one to turn to. I knocked on the door to her room, but there was no answer.

"Morgan?" I called, but there was still no answer. I tried the doorknob, and it twisted so I could push it open. All of the lights were off, which wasn't helped by the night sky. I toggled my night vision, and saw that Morgan was sitting on her bed alone, with sadness and despair still hanging over her. I went over to her and sat next to her, and could see her face more clearly, now. Tears were slowly running down her face, and her eyes had dark spots under them. She hadn't slept for a whole week, and had only stewed in her sadness during all that time. I wrapped my arm around her shoulders and pulled her closer to me.

"I know you, Morgan," I reminded. "You're a loving daughter, sister, and friend. I know that you did everything you could in Valedon."

"He was still killed," Morgan whispered. "Why couldn't I... Why couldn't I stop them?"

"Stop who?" I wondered.

"Sierra," Morgan answered. "And a Tuatha woman."

That was a question I didn't know the answer to. Sierra was Belroth's daughter, which made her much more powerful than Morgan, and if she was with even a normal Tuatha, then there was nothing Morgan could have done at all, even if she had Connor with her. I couldn't tell her that she wasn't strong enough, even as a Guardian Knight.

"Sierra is one of the strongest Shadows in existence," I reminded. "And with just a normal Tuatha, a team like that is unstoppable."

"I know," Morgan sighed.

"Perhaps if I was there, I could have done something," I whispered. "I wouldn't have left Valedon if I knew that it would be attacked by the rebels. As for you, you're a Guardian. Your concern has always been the people's safety, along with the safety of the people you love. I know that, and so did your father. The best thing you can do is to continue fighting, for him, for every father, and mother, and child who's been lost. Will you?"

Morgan stayed silent for a moment, but I felt her sadness slightly decrease. Enough for her to wipe the tears from her face. A half-smile came across my face, knowing that I helped at least a little.

"Well, I believe you only need some time to yourself," I suggested. "I'll leave you alone."

Suddenly, I felt her head on my shoulder, and began to hear her snoring. She had fallen asleep on my shoulder. My consolation seemed to be effective. I wanted to stay here with her, but on my way to her quarters, I had received a transmission from the Fox and his monitor, a man named "Wilson", telling me that Master Avanka Kordijakan had requested my presence in the control tower. I kissed Morgan on her forehead, then gently laid her down on the bed. As I left her room, and began towards the control tower, I thought about what I just told her, about how she was a loving daughter, sister, and friend. She had just lost her father, even though she was all of that, and had done a lot for this world. She didn't deserve to lose what she had, but I could say that for many others I know. When I arrived at the control tower, Master Avanka was waiting for me with the Fox and Wilson in front of a hologram projecting table.

"Greetings, Master Avanka!" I chirped.

"Hello, Maddy," Avanka greeted. "We need you to do a reconnaissance flight over an island north of Idrasyll."
