"So I know today is the last day for this whole family reunion thing, and I want to thank Avery beautiful mother for inviting me" Austin said and everyone clapped. We all sat in the theatre room and Austin stood on the stage a talked in the microphone. He had a bud light in his hand.
"But I've been working on this new song, so I figured before everyone left I'd perform it for y'all" he said taking a sip of his drink. My family cheered for him. He looked at me and smiled. He stepped of the stage and came over to me.
"I don't want your family to hate me, but it's a little dirty so just pretend it's not about you" he whispered in my ear. He kissed my cheek and ran up back to the stage. I felt my face turn red, and it was hot. He connected his phone to the speakers and handed it to me to play when he was ready. He took off his jacket and begun.

I know he said to pretend it wasn't about me but I'm sure my face proved that is was. I could feel that is was beat red and I was burning up. He ended his performance with saying thank you and he walked off the stage. He came down next to me and kissed me on the cheek and sat down next to me.
"You're turn" he said with a smile. I laughed.
"No" I said with a smile.
"Come on" he pleaded. I shook my head vigorously. He sat back up and made his way back to the stage.
"Help me convince Avery to get up here" he said and my family and begged me.
"Come on Avery, the beautiful Nona wants you to" he said into the mic. I looked back at my Nona who was agreeing with Austin. I rolled my eyes and stood up. I made my way up to the stage and took a seat.

Austin's POV
"So, do you see all of these people sitting right here?" Averys mom said leaning foreword. I look over at her and nodded.
"I don't think she's noticed yet, but these are all of her former dancers" she said excitedly.
"Former dancers?" I asked. Her mom nodded eagerly.
"When she was thirteen she started performing at small venues, she stopped when she was eighteen but she was amazing, she designed her whole stage set and all of the costumes, they're all behind the stage" she said.
"Oh really?" I asked. Her mom nodded excitedly.
"She used to write music all the time, then quit, I guess she didn't want a life in the public eye, she could have easily made it" her mom said.
"Besides, our family has many connections with a lot of people, I referred your name to them, nothing is set in stone yet, but you'll probably get a call next week, so think about it" she said. I turned to her and she was smiling.
"Well thank you, I appreciate it very much" I smiled and opened my arms. She leaned in for a hug.

Avery's POV
"Avery, Nona wants to see something with all of your old dancers, like you used to do" my mom yelled. I looked at her confused then saw all of my old dancers stand up and start walking onto the stage. I smiled at all of them excitedly. I gave them all a hug.
I took them all behind the stage, got them into matching outfits and gave them my phone with a video of the simple choreography. I ran back out to the front of the stage, walked down the stairs and to Austin.
"Try to pretend this song wasn't written for you a month ago" I whispered in his ear. He looked up at me and raised his eyebrows. He rubbed his hands together and moved to a seat closer to the front.

Once I finished, everyone clapped per usual.
My mom walked up on to the stage and gathered my dancers and I in a small circle.
"I want you to do 7 rings" she said
"Mama no, I have to rap in that and-" I started
"Oh hush, I bet Austin would love it" she said and ran off the stage. My dancers and I went backstage once again and changed into our stage outfits for 7 rings. I ran out and down the stairs to Austin again.
"Mom told me I have to do this, fair warning, I rap so shield your ears" I said. He laughed and sat back in his seat.
As I sang the song, of course everyone in the building knew it word for word.

"Okay, no more, I'm tired now" I said into the mic and everyone laughed. I made my way off the stage and took a seat next to Austin.

"I'm definitely going to need a demo of that" he said laughing.
"Oh shut up" I chuckled.
"No I'm serious" he said. I rolled my eyes and sat back in my seat.
"I feel threatened, my competition is my girl" he said smiling. I only smiled back and laughed.
His girl?
For the rest of the day my family just did some Karaoke, like I said I have a pretty talented family.
**
"I hope to see you soon" my mom said to Austin and I.
"You definitely will" he smiled at her and gave her a hug.
"And Austin, don't forget to answer every phone call you get" she smiled. I looked at him confused but decided to ignore it. We loaded everything into the car and we were on our way home.
