Marinette's Path to True Love

Chapter 1: Luka's Surprise

It was just another typical day of fighting an akumatized villain for Ladybug and Chat Noir.

"Well, another villain defeated m'lady." Chat kisses Ladybug's hand and then proceeds to kiss her cheek. Ladybug stops him.

"Chat, that's too far. You know I love someone else."

"M'lady, please."

Ladybug sighs. "The best I can offer you is a pound it." They bump fists and went home.

The next day at school, Adrien was secretly talking to Plagg. "Plagg, how can I make Ladybug love me?" Plagg replies: "You really can't make her. Love isn't something you can buy, you know. Just keep trying. And buy me some more camembert while you're at it." Adrien groans.

Just then, Marinette walks into school. "Hey Marinette!" someone calls. She turns to see it's Luka. Marinette blushes a bit. "Luka, it's nice to see you."

"Would you like me to play that song I wrote for you?" Marinette nods. Luka takes out his guitar and begins to play. Just as he finishes playing the song, the school bell rings. "See you later Marinette/Luka" they say. Marinette kisses Luka. Marinette kisses Luka. Luka smiles and they both went to class.

In class, Marinette thinks about the song Luka wrote for her. She wanted to do something in return. At home, Marinette still hasn't thought about what to give Luka. Luka had declared his love for her back in "Silencer". She then looked at the card she was writing Adrien and the idea popped into her head. She finished the card and changed the recipient's name from Adrien to Luka. She had been giving so many presents to Adrien but she didn't even get noticed by him. Besides, one less gift wouldn't hurt at all.

"What do you think Tikki?" "It looks spectacular. Alright, let's mail the card."

In the evening, it was then that she realized that she forgot to put her name on the card. (again!) She groaned and fell asleep. But little did she know that there was a surprise waiting for her the next day.

Luka ran up to her with the biggest smile of his life on his face. "Marinette, did you write this card for me?" "Wh-what ma-makes you say that, Luka?" "Your face tells me everything, plus who else would write such a sweet, heart-warming card? I know that someone like you would forget to write their name on the card. But not to worry. That's what I love about you. I know you well." Marinette nods. "Do you still have feelings for Adrien?" Marinette hesistated, then nodded. "To be honest, I don't really care whether you choose me or him as your love. True love is always about caring for each other which I do for you." Luka hugs Marinette and they kiss. "Then I love you," said Marinette.

Meanwhile, Adrien was still talking to Plagg about Ladybug. "Do you think if I study more about Ladybug, I will be able to make her fall for me?" Unknowingly, Plagg had watched Marinette and heard what she said with his sensitive cat ears. "No, no, no! She wouldn't fall for you in that way." "What makes you say that?" "Because I know Ladybug personally." "Personally?" "I know her secret identity, you know." "Can you tell me who she is?" "ADRIEN, WHAT is wrong with you? You know I can't tell you that." "Sorry, Plagg. It slipped my mind." But he couldn't help but feel a little upset because Plagg knew everything, but he didn't. He was determined to find out who Ladybug was and get her to love him. 

The bell rung. Adrien smiled and went to class. Behind her, Marinette and Luka gave each other one final hug and went to class.
