Marinette's Path to True Love

Chapter 5: Adrien Learns the Truth

Adrien has decided to give Master Fu a visit as stated in the previous chapter.

"Hello. It's nice to see you Adrien! Come on in." "Master, there's something I want to talk to yo about. I know it might be a bit inappropriate..." "You mean you want to talk about your love for Ladybug?" Master Fu smiles. Adrien opens his mouth wide. "How do you know about that?" "Ladybug spoke to me a few days ago about you." "Oh, okay." "When did you first realize that you were in love with her?" "Right from that time we were battling Stoneheart." "Why do you love her?" "Because she's awesome and smart and so many other kinds of stuff that I can't put in words." "Why do you think she keeps on rejecting you?" "I really don't know. Well actually, I know that she often thinks that I'm not a serious person, but I always try to lighten the mood with my puns and all that in these types of situations. I know she keeps on rejecting me but I didn't give up, that is until I found out she was in love with Viperion.." "I understand how upset you might be but you have to understand that the relationship you want can't always be made possible." "I know. I was very upset when I found out she truly doesn't love me today; I apologized to her and she forgave me. But I feel calmer now that I have someone to talk it out with." "I'm glad to hear that. You know Adrien, I think it's time that you know the truth about who Ladybug is when she's not Ladybug is when she's not Ladybug and her personality. But I'm not sure you're ready to hear it." Adrien takes a deep breath. Then smiled. "I'm ready." "Okay then...Ladybug is Marinette on the outside." It took all his strength for Adrien not to cry out loud. "Yes. The sad part was that she originally was in love with you. As Adrien." Adrien slapped his face. "No wonder she stutters around me and gave me so many gifts, or at least tried to." "Yes, just like you, she fell in love with you at the first sight. But she realized that you didn't notice her. She wasn't heartbroken of course. She just kept trying. But eventually, she learned the same lesson as you're learning right now. You love each other as heroes but as  civilians. She eventually discovered a new love interested. His name is Luka who is also Viperion. He loved Marinette of who she was on the inside, a shy and smart girl. She was being her true self when she's Marinette. When you're your true self, you're Chat Noir. Marinette realized that Luka truly cared for her. I'm not saying you are a bad person. But I suggest that to you to find someone else who cares for you and that you care for her. Maybe not at first, but later on. Anyway, you have to let go of the past. Marinette loves Luka, it's true. But you have to move on. I haven't told Marinette you were Chat Noir yet. It's up to you to decide if you want to tell her.

Adrien considered this and said: "I'm brave enough to tell her. She may not love me anymore but knowing Marinette, I'm sure we can still be friends. We both have worked together many times. And I'll find someone to be in love with." "Well said Adrien. Good luck. If I know Marinette, she would still be your friend even if she learns you're Chat Noir." "Thanks Master." "Anytime." Plagg pops out. "I'm so glad you accept the situation. Now, can we go eat?" Adrien laughs and pets Plagg. He smiles knowing he can accept the unexpected. He will tell Marinette tomorrow.
