Video - Ed Sheeran 'Photograph'

Image - Tom on his guitar

It is a very early seven o’clock in the morning for Tom and Ben because they had a very late night because of Robin Hood. This morning, Elli has insisted on coming around with the reviews of the pair’s first performance. In the living room is Elli wearing reasonably formal, work wear with a stack of printouts and newspapers. Benedict is making tea in the kitchen wearing a bath robe over his boxer shorts while Tom is wearing a pair of stripy pyjama bottoms with a marvel crew t-shirt over the top. He is sitting, slouched over on the sofa with his head in his hands. “Is this really necessary?” He questions no one in particular.

“Yes.” Elli states in response as she flicks to a page in Stars in Her Eyes magazine. “It is important as an actor to understand what areas you need to focus on in your improvement and it is nice to know people are enjoying your work?”

“Well I thought we were flawless.” Ben pipes is sarcastically causing Elli to role her eyes, “Anyway we cannot play our reviews that is rule…twenty six in acting.”

“Rule twenty six?” She questions.

“He made that up.” Tom mutters standing up and stretching his muscles.

“What’s crawled up your backside?” She replies coldly.

“Nothing.” He walks into the bedroom, slamming the door shut behind him. Benedict takes a seat opposite Elli who is still looking confused from the events that have just occurred.

“He is just nervous.” Benedict explains, “He is spending the day with Emmeline today, to see if he can…cope with her or something like that.” He wavers his hand like he is dismissing the thought, “Oh and that bitch of an ex is being banged up today, god knows how long for. But she deserves it. She deserves it for hurting him.” His voice cracks at the end of the sentence and he rubs his eyes to prevent any tears from spilling.

“I know!” Elli exclaims, gathering up the piles of paper; creating a neat pile. “Tonight Nate, Lauren, Steph and I are seeing the show. We could have drinks here afterwards or something.” She gets to her feet and rushes towards the door. “See you back here at eleven.” She instructs before leaving. Benedict sighs, rises and heads for the bedroom door. He grasps the handle but pauses before opening the door as he hears the plucking of strings from inside and the muttering of lyrics. He turns and notices the lack of guitar on the stand and smiles. It has been a while since Tom has played. Properly. Pressing his ear up against the wood he can just make out the words to ‘Ed Sheeran’s Photograph’: Loving can hurt, loving can hurt sometimes

But it's the only thing that I know

When it gets hard, you know it can get hard sometimes

It is the only thing that makes us feel alive

We keep this love in a photograph

We made these memories for ourselves

Where our eyes are never closing

Hearts are never broken

And time's forever frozen still

So you can keep me

Inside the pocket of your ripped jeans

Holding me closer 'til our eyes meet

You won't ever be alone, wait for me to come home

He stops suddenly and strikes a sudden chord in frustration but Benedict decides to shrug it off and head towards the bathroom to clean himself up.
