2013
Age: 13
"You're one of the craziest person I've ever met, and I've only met a handful of people." Belle shook her head in disbelief after I told her my master plan. "It's never going to work."
"What's not to work? It works effectively in the movies and fan fictions, doesn't it?" The plan was simple. I just turned 13 now so I haven't had my life changing puberty makeover yet, but when I do...
"What makes you think we would glow up when we turn 16? Have you seen my brother?" she looked at me like I should know what she meant. "He's 17 but he still looks and acts like a 12 year old kid."
I rubbed my chin trying to remember Jin, and when I did I immediately brushed the picture of him devouring an ice cream cone like a golden retriever. "He's a guy, it's different for us girls, we mature faster." I tried to reason with her. But it seems like she's still unconvinced.
"We could always wear make up and get a make over in a salon if puberty won't work." I suggested.
Belle begins to nod, as if starting to understand that my plan isn't so 'crazy' after all. The plan was simple, go through puberty and have an awesome transformation something in the likes of Amelia Thermopolis from Princess Diaries, then constantly attend concerts and meet & greets, then surely we will catch the attention of one the members of Neverland.
"Hmmm... That does seem like something we could do. Also--"
"What?!" I interrupted her, getting excited that she's hopping along my plan.
"--your dad can absolutely help us!!!" she squealed.
I pursed my lips and smiled with her, not wanting to burst her bubble. My dad, Alexander Jeon II founded an entertainment company based in Seoul called ACY entertainment. He dedicated it to my mother who passed away a few years after I was born. I heard she was an amazing singer It's newer compared to other companies like STAR Ent. who has been established decades ago and handles my favorite boy group, Neverland.
I'm proud of my fath
"We could visit award shows and get back stage passes to meet them!" Haeyoung continued to squeal and as I began to picture it, we started jumping with joy on the couch. I could only imagine finally meeting N-XTRO in person and getting to know them all... especially Sean.
"Then we could befriend them and that is how we start out love story!"
"Are you seriously forgetting something?" a familiar annoying voice interrupted our celebration. I looked behind me and I my brother, Alexander Jeon III who's been quietly sitting by the counter reading his comic book and eating cake.
"And what is that?" I raised my eyebrow at him. He put his comic book below his nose and looked at me dead in the eyes.
"Even if they did get to know you, they're still years older than both of you. What makes you think you're both their type? " Alex said in plain flat serious tone. Haeyoung and I looked at each other and I could already tell what she had in mind as she mirrored the same mischeivious expression I had on my face. We looked at each other grabbing a pillow on both of our hands and whispered, 1...2...3...
We both threw the pillows toward Alex, who flawlessly dodged all four pillows. "Ugh! No fair! Why do you have fast reflexes?" I whined and Alex gave off a smug look at us, holding the pillows that Belle and I threw.
"What can I say? I'm that awesome." He shrugged and smirked in response. Ew. Now it's my turn to throw not just one, but all the pillows from the couch to his face. He tried, but he obviously couldn't catch all of it.
"Tsss! Get outta here Alex!" I yelled at him, but he just laughed as he walked towards our direction.
"Aw, don't be too upset baby Addy, even if you do get married to one of them I will never allow it." He pinched my cheeks. I pushed away but he just pinched me harder. It was not just him, everyone in our family has a habit of pinching my cheeks.
When I finally successfully pushed him away I asked him, "Why not?! Sean is perfect!"
He gets his hand off of my face. I could really feel my cheeks become sore. Alex is three years older than me but sometimes I feel like he's my age, because even though he's taller than me and tries to act cold and mature sometimes like most guys his age do, I never felt a gap between us. He's always that fun wacky brother who teases me but still makes up for it. The type of brother who care and watches over me but at the same time acts my age.
"That's the problem. Perfect on screen isn't always perfect in real life. It's often disappointing. Perfect is scary." he said.
What does that suppose to mean? Perfect is supposed to be... perfect. Right?
I saw Belle roll her eyes at him. "Jeez, stop talking nonsense and leave us alone." I commanded and hit him on the back.
"Eh, you're screaming are affecting my reading time anyways." Alex walked away but continued to grin. I mocked him behind his back and Haeyoung laughed. My brother and I bicker a lot and we barely agree on things, but I still consider him as my best friend. And I know he considers me as his too.
"By the way, mom just texted, she said you could get your N-XTRO ticket when you finish class with Ms. Kim today." Alex said before disappearing upstairs. Oh my gosh! They're finally here! I could feel my heart pounding faster.
Belle and I held the same expression. "I can't believe it's actually happening!" She squealed.
"I know!" I say, breathless. After all the wait I'm actually going to see them in person! I just couldn't contain my excitement.
"Okay, so let's get over the plan again..." Belle suggested. I told her the plan all over again as we pictured ourselves getting our dream wedding with our bias. We picked out wedding dresses on Pinterest and even planned the entire reception! Halfway through the whole pretend wedding planning, as we were talking about the perfect dress, location, color, flowers, and man, I couldn't help but think of what Alexander told us earlier.
How is perfect disappointing? How is perfect scary? Isn't perfect supposed to be... perfect?
Before I knew it, Ms. Kim, my homeschool teacher arrived and Belle had to leave. Ms. Kim kindly told me to come up to the study room once I'm done. I guess if I had a different teacher I would groan and whine about having classes like these, but Ms. Kim made learning so much fun. Plus she's also an xtrodinary so we get to fangirl every now and then in between lessons.
"I had so much fun. I still can't believe we planned the perfect wedding with the perfect guys!" Belle said as she picked up her back pack. "Wouldn't life be perfect if that happened?"
I looked at Belle whose eyes were filled with hope and joy. If I was all hyped up as when we first started talking this morning I would've said 'yes', but Alex's words still rung in my head like a broken cassette... Perfection is disappointing.
No... Sean isn't like that. He won't disappoint me.
We spent another perfect day
I looked at you, I wish you'd stay
But reality made its way
We were so close yet so far away
