2014

I ticked off the days on my calendar as I waited for the big day to come. It felt like the days were dragging and it seemed like forever, but finally the day came! It's finally Seojun's birthday. I posted a tweet that I've been preparing for weeks and once I was done I started to get ready.

I picked out the best clothes that I'm most comfortable in, the air was getting colder since winter is just around the corner, but according to the weather forecast, today would be a warm sunny day. So I decided to wear the pastel purple fit sweater mom got me when she and dad visited Paris tucked in a pair of blue faded skinny jeans, my favourite N-XTRO beanie, with white low cut chuck Taylors and a denim jacket. It's not that cold so I don't need to wear a coat, and I don't really like wearing coats. I also applied a bit of makeup to look nicer and presentable. When I got downstairs I already spotted Ms. Kim waiting in the living room.

She was wearing a plain white t-shirt tucked in a high-waisted skinny jeans, pairing the outfit with some vans and a black padded coat. She looked like a teenager, and not my everyday teacher who taught me how to speak english.

"Good morning Ms. Kim!" I greeted her and she smiled back in response, "Why are you wearing a padded coat?" I asked her.

She looked down at her coat before answering, "Oh, it's almost winter and it might get cold later on." I was going to tell her about the forecast but I suppose it doesn't matter since she's already wearing it. Next to each other we looked like summer and winter by the way we dressed.

Despite stopping over to order food, the entire drive wasn't as long as I expected. Mr. Hae reminded us that he will be back before 7:30pm to pick us up.  I already texted Jackson prior to leaving, reminding him of our meeting. But he hasn't responded yet. I really hope he shows up or I swear I'll...

Cry then maybe strangle him afterwards.

I told Ms. Kim that she could invite friends over so she won't be alone, but she said this was her opportunity to get her mind 'cleared' and have an 'alone time'. I also reassured her that she didn't have to keep an eye on me the entire time and she could freely do whatever she wishes. I already feel bad enough that she had to come with me. Ms. Kim was cool but I still feel bad she had to spend her Saturday in a theme park with a kid.

Jackson still haven't responded so I decided to get tickets while we wait. It was still pretty early so the line wasn't as long as I expected. Once in the counter I got three tickets, and let's just stay I had one of those k-drama slow motion moments because I'm pretty sure I stood in front of that counter for a good solid 10 seconds before realizing I was holding the line. The tickets were the most beautiful things I laid eyes on. It had Seojun's face on it with one of his famous solo song lines written: Don't remain fallen. Rise and move forward, love.

I felt myself tear up a bit there.

"Are you crying?" Ms. Kim asked, looking concerned as I walked back to where she was.

"Uh-huh.." I sniffed, "Look at how beautiful these are!" I put the tickets on her eye level so she could see it clearly. She looked at them for a second and I could tell she was stopping herself from laughing.

"Ms. Kim!"

"I'm sorry Addy! I wasn't laughing at Seojun's face, it's beautiful as usual..." she paused, "I was laughing at yours!"

"Ugh, you're not supposed to tease your students." I complained.

She shrugged and scrunched her nose. "Well you treat me so much like a friend, I sometimes forget."

We stood outside of Everland for about five minutes, and still no sign of Jackson. I was starting to feel bad that Ms. Kim had to wait for Jackson's tardiness. Ugh, I felt like such a burden.
