The Question

RACHEL'S POV*

I had just found out my dad had just died. Luckly I had Aeryn and Amy there for me we all moved into an apartment together along woth Amy's boyfriend Brooklyn, Aeryns boyfriend Kyle and Caspar my boy best friend that I had fancied since we were twelve years old. Aeryn and Kyle had finished unpacking there room so came and helped me. Eventually we reached the last box I picked up a piece of paper from the bottom of the box. Completely unaware of what it was I read it.

Dear Rachel
If you are reading this then I must have died before I got the chance to tell you, you have a half brother. His name is connor and I don't have any way of contacting him and I'm sorry I never told you this. He was born march 15th 1996. I was going to tell you the first Christmas after you finished secondary school/high school.

I love you you are my world my everything.

Aeryn had been reading this over my shoulder the whole time.

"Are you okay?" Aeryn asked with so much concern in her voice. Before I could reply a tear streamed down my face and Amy walked in doing some sort of chicken dance. She looked over at me panicking as she rolled over the bed jumped up hugging me saying/screaming.

"Are you alright what happened. Aeryn whats wrong with her? Why is she crying?"

"Im right here you know." I said as I wiped the tear that had fallen. Aeryn handed the letter to amy. I walked downstairs to the living room acting like nothing happened I sat inbetween Caspar and Brooklyn. Straight away Caspar noticed that I was upset as I wasn't as hyper as I usually seemed to be. He put his arm around me. Generally I would have loved the closeness and his arm being around me but not today I felt like I have lived a lie my whole life.

"Come with me." He wispered in my ear his voice the closeness and the words he had just said got to me. I was a 16 year old girl who had loved a boy since we were both twelve. He grabbed my hand and pulled me to the kitchen.

I heard Aeryn and Amy running down the stairs to find me. My heart was pounding. Caspar lifted me up and put me on the counter top as he stood in between my legs . I lost my breath because of how good he looked in this light. As he opened his mouth Aeryn and Amy ran in. My perfect moment to tell him I was in love with him was ruined.

"Whats going on here?"Amy questioned wiggling her eyebrows as I laughed at how concentrated she was on her eyebrows.

"Nothing, Rachel why dont we go on a walk."Caspar said looking at me with his big brown eyes

I grabbed my set of keys as we walked out the apartment (which Brooklyn's mum owns.) He rested his hand on the small of my back as if to guide me. We started our walk I didn't have a clue where we were going but I like it he was my best friend that I was in love with, he would always be my best friend which was why I always got scared to tell him I loved him. We walked in silence for the first few minutes. Eventually he broke the silence but I didn't expect what he said to ever exit his mouth.

"I have two questions, one, whats wrong? Two, theres these two girls I like but I can't choose I'm close to one of them and value our friendship so much and known her for five years. The other I met a couple a weeks ago and I dont know whether I do like her but I might. The first im in love with but dont want to ruin our friendship as well as this she likes someone else."

I stayed quiet for a few minutes I knew it wasn't me he liked, it was Amy! She loved Brooklyn and Amy was the pretty one. I couldn't blame him for liking her she's amazing.

"If she has a boyfriend leave it and continue getting to know the other one if she doesn't tell her how you feel you never know she may suprise you." I finally replied as I held back my emotions.

"Okay your my best friend you know and I love you." He said as he looked into my eyes

"I love you too." I once again held back my emotions meaning it in a different way then he did. We gave each other a side hug walking down a quiet road.

"Where are we going,"

"Its a suprise."

" I don't like surprises caaassssppppaaaarrrr please tell me."

He stayed quiet just to annoy me he knew me too well. We finally arrived at a park sat on a big spider web style swing as he pulled out of his bag two happy meals. I laughed at this of course.

"Are you going to tell me why you were upset?" I started explaing the story of the letter from my dad.

*a couple hours later*

I was sat with Caspar in the living room watching we're the millers. I have seen this film about 100 times but Caspar doesn't need to know that.

*CASPAR'S POV*

I can't get Amy out of my head I need to tell her I have to. I can't though, she's with Brooklyn. I have to get over this. I will. I know it.
