"WHAT-" Pearl screeched as she laid eyes on the huge reptilian creature Connie brought back.
"C-Connie, who is THIS?!" She squawked, making the poor rose quartz uncomfortable.

Connie was trying to calm down pearl, while Steven just sat down, watching this fight with an innocent face.
"PEARL CALM DOWN! This is my uh- familiar! He's a rose quartz I found!"
"And where did you find this- rose quartz?"
Pearl glared intently at the sweating girl, "uhhhh- erm, the coral forest!"
Connie lied, she was afraid if pearl really knew where he was she wouldn't let her have the general giant as her forever friend.

Pearl gave a uncertain look as she inspected the creature, "yours eyes....there quite odd to be a rose quartz's eyes-" pearl mumbled, making Steven sweating as well, "it's a, umm, a defect I have, nothing more! But please call me steven." The pink gem looked at his mage for approval, since familiars are supposed to do everything their mages tell them to, and the girl just smiled.

"A gem naming its self....that's rather odd as well, seems to be as if your used to higher authority.....hm?" Pearl continued to interview the lizard, making him even more anxious than he already was, and the girl finally saw this.

"That's enough pearl, Cant you see he's scared? He just enetered a whole new realm he's never even seen, wouldnt you be nervous?" This made the white gem sigh and step down, gesturing the two to follow back to home.

When pearl left the bushes, Steven walked right beside the girl, scared. "T-that pearl scares me..."
Connie laughed and patted the head of the titan, "she may be cold and mean acting, but she'll warm up to you, she's always like this to new gems."
That reassured the pink gem as they continued to walk home.

They finally reached the place where the large furious thorns were, making Connie unsure about Steven around them. He's large and bulky, and already stuggling to navagait the lush woods.
And then her heart dropped as she heard a large wail happen, shaking the trees into almost snapping.
"HELP!-" the gem screeched, wailing over and over until someone came in his view.
The girl sighed and walked over to the tangled lizard.
"How did you even-" Connie questioned as she began to tear thorn vines out of gems fake flesh.

Connie can hear pearl laughing somewhere from a far, and scoffed as she didn't even try to help. Does she even care for her friend? Will she ever? Because this was the coldest pearl has ever treated anybody, let alone a new gem.
The lizard looked down in embarrassment as he heard the laughter as well, "s-sorry-",
"No, if anyone should be sorry, it's pearl, she never really acted this way before, I'm sure she's just testing you...." the girl lied, trying to at least give him hope.

"Come on, let's go home to tend to those gashes." Connie bribes, this time grabbing his left claw to guide him safely.
It was quite funny to see actually, the titans claws are at least 4 times the size of the girls own, making her instead of grabbing his hand, she was grabbing his finger.

Steven was rather gentle, and when Connie guided him, he barely clenched his hand, instead more of caressing his mages delicate hand.

In about two hours of fighting thorns and weaving between trees, the three finally made it back to home.
The rose quartz awed as he saw the house, it was nice and cozy looking, yet you can see there age to it. The house went for a cabin degsin, so you can see the age of moss and small flowers growing between each log, and the roof was almost like the ground, so old that grass and other plants began to grow on it, making it blend into the wilderness rather well.
Steven loved the house, but there was a small problem, he couldn't fit.

His mage realized this too and had an uncertain look, making the pink gem anxious.

*was she gonna send him back to that place..?*
*am I gonna be abandoned?*

More of these thoughts flooded the poor tyrant, making his hands slightly quiver under the girls touch, making Connie aware that he already knew this was a problem.

"It's okay steven, you may just need to sleep outside for a month or two, while we build some sort of shelter for you, it's summer as well, so it won't be miserable."

"S-summer..?"
Steven was confused now, what was summer?
Connie gave a dumbfounded look as she heard his question, she snapped her head back to the creatures confused eyes, "you don't know what summer is?"
He just sat there, giving the head tilt and the questioning eyes.
The girl was surprised, and then went ahead and answered his question, "summer is when the weather out here is warm and nice, sometimes too warm, yet at night, it's really great to sleep among the stars, I think you'll like it!"

Instead of confused, the titan was excited, he loved new things, and hated that awful place where Connie found him, he was embarrassed to find his mage there, for he was recently punished, that's why he never mentioned it, and never will. Let alone will he ever reveal his real self.

The creature shocked his head to find that the two others were walking in their building, leaving the pink gem by himself.
He didn't like this, not after that one time. Will they come back or will they leave like the others have..?
The scared lizard began to hyperventilate, this burden he decided to take for reasons of his own, it seemed almost selfish to him, and made him scared of the future...
