I was scrolling through instagram when I came across this girl her name was Elle the way her name just rolled off the tip of my tongue was pleasant and the way she looked was like no one I've ever seen before. Her eyes were a pool of honey that put you under her love spell I just had to talk to her so I decided to shoot her a message but of course she had a boyfriend.
I just laid on my bed thinking about her thinking about if I'd ever get to meet her cause her bio said she lived in la where I had recently moved. The thing about me is that my dad went to jail and my mom overdosed on drugs and if I had just known she needed help I would've done something cause my mom is the sweetest person alive and I feel like it's my fault for not seeing the signs earlier.
My dad on the other hand used to beat us everyday when he came from work late and drunk. He didn't deserve someone like my mom but neither did I. My mom used to beg him to stop but he never did. He would get fired and still gamble and drink all our money away, we were his last priority and I hated it.
Currently I am living with my aunt on my moms side and I can tell they are related cause they are both very kind. She was always there for me even when my parents were still there, she was my safe place. The person I could talk to if I needed anything or needed to rant ever since I was a baby. I am so grateful to have her in my life.
I snap out of my sad thoughts with my aunt calling me "KIOOOOO" "KIO HURRY UP YOU'RE GOING TO BE LATE FOR SCHOOL". I had completely forgotten that today was my first day of school I hopped out of bed and took a quick shower and thank god my hair was cooperating with me today. I threw on a pair of jeans and a T-shirt and a denim jacket to top it off.
I rush downstairs and was met with my aunt at the frame of the doorway "Kio are you doing alright? Do you need to stay home? Are you fee-" "I'm ok I was just thinking about stuff but I'll be alright don't worry" a wave of relief washed over my aunts face. I took my aunts hand "please don't worry I will be fine and I will call you if anything happens ok?" She took a deep breath "I'm sorry it's just that in the pas-" "No no we are in the future now let's not go back to those awful memories ok?" "Ok sweetheart have a good day at school" "I will".
I got in my car and started to drive it was 8:10 and I had just left home and it takes 5 minutes to get there "guess I'll be be fifteen minutes late" I said mumbling to myself. I got to the school and parked my car and went to the principals office to get my schedule. "Already late on your first day Mr.Cyr?" "Sorry sir this will be the first and last time I'm late" "I hope so here you go" he handed me my schedule "thank you" he nodded and went back to work.
My first class was science and my teacher was outside "Hello so you must be Kio right?" "ah yes that's me" she was smiling but I could tell it was fake "well I'm Mrs.Richards your science teacher follow me" I followed her inside the classroom and started to look around at the walls while she told these two students to stop talking "well students today we will be having a new student" "hi my name is Kio" as I looked at the students I saw a similar face it was Elle I couldn't believe my eyes.
I sat down besides her and we talked for like 10 seconds before Mrs. Richards busted her and kicked her out. I felt bad so when she asked ho wanted to join her I put up my hand "well Kio I wasn't expecting that but you may go join her" I stood up and left and took this as a opportunity to talk to her. When I got outside she asked me how I got kicked out and we talked for a little while longer.
I finally got the courage to ask her if she wanted to go out sometime and like she said before she had a boyfriend so I said as friends but really I wanted to be more than friends soooo bad. She said yes the second time and we continued talking until she said she needed to go to the bathroom. She left and I just kept on replaying the conversation we just had and I was totally hooked, my thoughts were interrupted when Elle came bursting through the doors crying so I took her in my arms
She could barely speak when I asked her what happened but I understood enough. Austin had cheated on her so I wiped her tears away and hugged her for a little bit until I pulled away "I'm gonna deal with this". I burst into the room and beat the living crap out of him and he started yelling like a little girl which got the attention of students and teachers who came in trying to stop me from pummeling this guy.
Everyone was recording but I didn't care and I wouldn't have stopped if I didn't hear that familiar voice. "Kio stop please stop" I turned around and saw Elle crying so I did as she said and stopped and pulled her into a hug until the principal came and told all the students to go back in class. Austin was taken to the nurse and I went to the principals office.
