The next morning, Gerard's stupid phone went off.
"...'rard. Off."
"You...closer."
Neither of them moved until Frank finally gave in and reached blindly for it across the floor, hitting the volume button to turn it off.
"You put it on snooze."
"I don't care. It's off right?"
"Mmm. Guess." And then it was silent. Gerard had easily went back to sleep and Frank guessed that he wasn't going to school today. He reached for Gerard's phone again and properly turned the alarm off before putting it back down. Frank turned around and sighed, staring at Gerard's face. He had half a mind to reach forward and touch his cheek. Gerard's face always looked so smooth, like satin, and Frank always wondered how. He had a few pimples but they were barely raised or noticeable. Gerard looked so peaceful when he slept. Frank would never admit it, but sometimes he watched him sleep before he himself drifted off.
"Frank. My head hurts." Gerard murmured, eyebrows creasing.
"Because you haven't eaten anything, dipshit."
That made his eyes flutter open and he tilted his head up, obviously thinking about the last time he ate. "Day before yesterday."
"Go fucking eat something before I shove my fridge down your throat." Frank threatened, turning onto his back. Gerard whined. "I'm too lazy. Later." "Get up." "No."
"Get up and go eat."
"Ten minutes. 'S all I need. Serious..."
Frank yanked the covers off of Gerard and he got a glare in return. "Fuck off, Frank."
"You fucking fuck off. Get your ass up and go eat."
"Fine!" Gerard huffed out. He purposely hit Frank's leg as he climbed out and Frank managed to kick him in the butt before he got too far away. Gerard immediately started giggling and Frank rolled his eyes, not wanting to give away that he found the whole moment cute. "Don't be loud or you'll wake my mom." "Aye aye, el capitan."
Frank snorted. "Nothing changed besides your hair."
Gerard opened a drawer and pulled out one of Frank's t shirts and put it on. "What was supposed to change?" Frank shrugged and hummed I don't know. "Just thought something would have."
"Nope. Still the same."
45 minutes later, Gerard was putting on his jacket and Frank grabbed his keys. "Mom! I'm going to school!" He yelled before they both walked out the door. "We're not really going to school, right?" Gerard asked. "Nope. Just driving around till my mom leaves so we can come back."
"Kay."
"Your bookbag is still in the trunk by the way." "I forgot all about that." Gerard scoffed, and then gasped. "What?" Frank looked up from his keys and followed Gerard's gaze to his house. There were 2 cop cars parked on the side of the street and there was a third one slowly driving down their way. They both ran to his car and Frank unlocked his door so fast that he was positive he had just set a record for himself. He put the key in the ignition and backed out before the flashing blue and red lights came any closer. He pulled onto the highway and Gerard started giggling again. "Shut up, idiot." Frank mumbled. "Dude, if they saw me, I'd be busted so hard." "No shit." Frank agreed.
He pulled into an almost empty parking lot at Publix and sighed as he let the windows down halfway before he turned the car off. Gerard kicked his feet up on the dashboard and Frank leaned his head back.
