You watched your best friend move around her closet, frantically pulling out random pieces of clothing and throwing them over her head. It was almost a comical scene if you ignored the look of sheer panic that was written all over her face.
"Sae, you need to seriously calm down before you empty out your entire closet," you said, ducking as a pair of jeans went flying over your head.
"Byeol I can't. It's my first date with him and I want to look good. Not like a sack of potatoes." Sae yelled, grabbing two dresses and staring at them before throwing them down. You sighed, picking up a white dress hanging on the back of the door and handing it to Sae.
"You'll be fine Sae. You're pretty and smart and sassy. What's there not to love? Besides, you're not the one who's getting forced into this whole double date situation." you muttered, picking at the violet oversized sweater you had thrown on.
Sae pursed her lips as she shut her closet door. "Look I know you didn't want to date after what happened, but I thought it would be a good idea for you to at least try to get out a little."
You huffed, plopping down on her bed. "I know. But that doesn't mean that you had to set me up on a blind date."
"It had to be sometime Byeol. And let's be honest, if it were up to you, that time would never come." Sae called out as she walked into the bathroom. "At least this way, you're still doing something other than for moping in your bedroom with your plushies."
You pursued my lips. Of course, as per usual, she was right. Not that it made things any better because you would much rather be curled up in your bed with the company of your plushies than be mentally preparing yourself for a date I was nowhere near ready for.
You watched as Sae walked out, happily twirling in the dress she had on, and smiled softly. If nothing, you'd go on this date to at least show her you were trying.
----
Namjoon looked at the door, hesitating to knock. It was his first date with Sae, and the thought of messing everything up tonight was not helping his nerves. He looked over at Jungkook, watching as a smirk pulled at his lips.
"Chicken." Jungkook accused jokingly.
Namjoon glared at his friend and he firmly knocked the wooden door. "See. I am not. I'm just a little nervous...I just don't want to screw it up with her Kook." he snapped. "I really like her too, so that doesn't help," he muttered.
Jungkook raised his eyebrow. "Hyung. My god. You're whipped before the first date."
Namjoon looked down at his feet as he nodded. "A little bit, yeah." He looked over as Jungkook leaned on the doorframe, pulling out his phone. "What about you? Are you excited for your blind date?"
Jungkook looked up and rolled his eyes. "Hyung, is there a reason I'm supposed to be excited? Because A. This is a blind date. I don't even know this chick. And B. I'm only on this date because you practically forced me to come." His eyes wandered back down to his phone. "So no. I'm not particularly happy about this."
Namjoon's eyes softened. He barely saw this side of Jungkook, but it was well deserved. "Look Kook. First. Byeol is not a chick, she's a woman. Address her properly. She's a great person and an even better friend. So if you hurt her, just know that I'll be coming for you. And second." Namjoon paused, trying to phrase his words properly. "I just want you to live a little. Loosen up."
"Yeah whatever Hyung. I'll be an absolute joy tonight. Besides," Jungkook snickered. "It helps that my expensive taste in alcohol is going on your card tonight."
Namjoon huffed. Date first, kill Jungkook second, he reminded himself as he quickly raked back his hair. Date first.
----
Sae practically ran down the stairs, dragging me with her. "Sae, I swear to god, you need to slow down or your date night will end up happening at the hospital," you yelled, trying not to curse as you slipped down a step.
"I'm sorry Byeol, but he's here and no offense, but you took way too long choosing what purse would match with your goddamn sneakers." she piped, hopping off of the last stair. She got to the door and paused, taking a breath and whirling back to you.
"Is my hair ok?" she blurted, cheeks tinged red. You laughed, tucking a piece of stray hair behind her ear. "It's gorgeous. Now open the damn door already." you chimed, slapping her shoulder.
She swung open the door, her eyes immediately finding Namjoon. "Hey Joon." You watched as her olive skin filled pink, and you couldn't help but hold back a smile. Namjoon and Sae were perfect together, and it took them long enough to get to this point.
You looked over at Namjoon, watching as he flashed you a brilliant smile, before pulling Sae in for a hug. "Hey, beautiful. Ready to go on our date?" Sae nodded, before realization hit and she gasped, pulling away from Namjoon gently. "No, wait! We have to introduce Byeol to Jungkook."
Namjoon's eyes widened and he looked at the man you assumed was Jungkook. "Jungkook, this is Byeol, Sae's best friend."
You looked to Namjoon's right, and your eyes fell on a tall gorgeous man. He was leaning against the wall, immersed entirely in his phone, and you took that second to take him in. Black hair touseled back, lip ring at the corner of his mouth, tattoos peaking on his hand from under his jacket.
Damn.
Exactly your type. Your eyes met his, and you gave him a small smile. He looked away, and you caught a glimpse of his eyes as he rolled them. You wrinkled your nose.
What a strange man. A handsome, yet strange man.
Jungkook looked over, smiling softly at Sae and looking back at Namjoon. "Ready to go now?"
Hot and cold. Just your luck. "What a great start to a blind date," you muttered.
Sae looked over her shoulder at you, concern flooding her eyes. "Did you say something?"
You mentally cursed, before flashing the fakest of smiles. "Yep! I said we're all ready to go. Sae and Namjoon? You guys want to lead the way?"
Namjoon grinned, holding his hand out for Sae. "Shall we, fair lady?" Sae slipped her hand into Namjoons and he gently tugged, pulling her towards him and walking away.
You looked over at Jungkook, who looked up at you with absolutely no kindness. "Let's just get this night over with," he muttered, turning on his heel and walking away.
"This is going to be awful," you grumbled, following Jungkook to the car.
