I blushed as Alex grabbed my hand and began walking away. I noticed he started walking toward the alley behind the venue where the Strokes had played last night. Where the fuck is this dude leading me I thought.
"We're here!" Alex announced
"Um... Alex this is a dumpster?" I asked confused.
"It's not just ANY dumpster" he told me, "admit it there's a certain romance to it."
Okay I needed to get the fuck out of here. Just as I was about to turn to leave I managed to hear what sounded like singing. As I listened more I realized it was Julian! The Strokes were having practice in the building where the dumpster was.
"I uh felt bad about you missing out on the show last night so I thought you's like hearing the Strokes practice." Alex explained.
"Alex... thank you."
We stayed until the Strokes were done practicing, the smell wasn't too bad and at least I still got to listen to the Strokes for free. Once they were done Alex told me we were going somewhere else, after asking he told me we were heading to a small café at the end of the street.
"I thought it'd be a nice place where we could get to know each other," Alex smiled.
"Oh sure you can tell me more about your band"
"I want to hear your thoughts and opinions about the record love, don't think I've forgot"
"Sure but don't get offended when I start giving my criticism," I laughed.
Alex laughed and we both make our way into the café. Alex orders for the both of us and we make our way to an empty table.
"So tell me everything," Alex says as he leans in to hear what I have to say.
"Well... I was only joking about criticism, Favorite Worst Nightmare was a really really good album. The songs were all really good, and leaving 505 all the way until the end was like leaving the best for last. Experiencing it all for the first time is amazing..." I start to trail off as I notice Alex hasn't said anything and I'm the only one talking. "Is something wrong?" I ask.
"No just hearing you talk about music is captivating I could do it all day love," Alex explains.
Just as he finishes explaining we hear his name being called for our order. We keep talking well after we finish our drinks until we realize it's getting late. We decide to head out and Alex insists on waking me home. Once we arrive at my door I hear Alex ask
"Is it safe to assume I'll see you backstage at the concert tomorrow love?"
"Yes I'm looking forward to hearing you sing live actually," I reply.
"Smashing, here's the backstage pass. I won't be able to walk with you to the venue, but I'll see you around 2 so we can catch up beforehand yeah?" Alex tells me as he hands me a badge.
"Sounds like a plan," I tell him before we both say our goodbyes and I head inside. I hold the badge in my hand and think more about tomorrow. This should be exciting, what have I got to lose I think before I take off my makeup and change into pajamas. Before I fall asleep I send Alex one last text.
Today was fun, I can't wait to see you tomorrow. :).
I hit send and head to sleep thinking about what tomorrow had in store.
