After Alex and I get ready I ask what he has planned for the day.
"Well we have our other concert today," he informs me.
Oh right we're here because of tour, I recall.
"So what tome are guys playing today?" I ask Alex.
"Don't worry love, the show is at 20:00 and practice isn't until 18:00 so we have all day to spend together," he says reassuringly.
I nod as Alex leads us back to his car.
"I thought I'd take you sightseeing, I assume you've never been to Sheffield?" Alex says turning to me.
"I'd love to learn about your home town," I laugh.
"Smashing!" He says getting out of the parking space and driving off. Alex manages to take me to the ferris wheel, and the National Centre for Popular Music before we have to go to the venue for soundcheck.
"So what do you think of our humble little Sheffield," Alex asks me as we head inside the venue.
"Everything was lovely Alex, thank you for showing me around," I smile.
I notice that the band is already set up and the guys are waiting for Alex. Whoops.
"Took you both long enough, have fun on your little date?" Nick pipes up and the band snickers. We both blush before Alex tells him,
"At's enough c'mon let's get this practice over with."
They immediately start playing as soon as Alex goes over to the microphone and they manage to go through half their song on their setlist.
"You guys sound amazing!" I let them know. They all thank me and I hear Alex say,
"Come over so you can feel just as amazing as we do when we play."
I start making my way towards the stage but just as I'm halfway to where Alex is standing I see everyone's faces filled with worry.
Huh, what's wrong? is the last thing I think before I hear Alex and the band yell
"WATCH OUT!" and black out.
Alex POV
Me and the rest of the band try to warn y/n but we're too late as we see one of the performance stage lights fall directly on her heard. I rush over to her body and I realize quickly that her head is bleeding.
"Quick call a fucking ambulance!" I yell out to my bandmates panicking as I try to find where y/n's head is bleeding from. I see the band rush past me and scramble to get some form of help. Why did this have to happen? Why did I ask her to come up to me? I think to myself before I see a medical team arrive and load her onto a stretcher. I quickly rush alongside them and make my way into the ambulance. Before I can get in the nurses stop me but I frantically explain,
"I'm her boyfriend, she's not English she doesn't have any insurance but I'll pay for everything please I need to be by her side."
They nod and let me in. I hold y/n's hand the entire ride to the hospital. Once we're inside I see them quickly roll her into the emergency area and a nurse gives me sheets to fill out while they rush to operate her lesion. I fill out all of the paperwork but I can't help but feel nervous. My head is filled with negative thoughts but I quickly push them aside and I focus on thinking about how y/n will get through this. I ring up the band and explain the situation to them. We all decide there's no way we can do today's show and we make a public announcement explaining that we had a serious family emergency and hoped the fans would understand. After about 5 hours I finally see a doctor walk towards me.
"Mr. Turner?" He asks and I nod.
"Well I just want to start off by telling you that Miss y/n is in stable condition and seems to be recovering well. She hasn't woken up yet, but there don't seem to be any serious issues so you're free to visit her now if you wish." He finishes informing me.
I'm so relieved to hear she's well and I thank the doctor before speeding to the room number he gave me. When I walk in I notice how a part of y/n's head has been bandaged up, and the vast amount of tubes stuck into her arms. I walk over to her and gently cup her face.
"You're incredibly strong love," I say when I notice her eyes flutter open.
"You're up!" I exclaim before hearing her ask,
"Sorry but who are you? And where am I, what happened?"
No. This couldn't be.
"It's alright love, you're in the hospital remember? A loose stage loght fell and hit you but you're okay now everything's alright," I say squeezing her hand.
"I don't remember any of that happening, but that still doesn't explain who you are," she says still confused.
"It's me, your boyfriend, Alex Turner, please love tell me you remember me," I say slightly frantically.
"My boyfriend? I'm sorry but I don't know any Alex Turner's and my boyfriend is definitely not you."
My heart breaks. There's no way she doesn't remember. This has all got to be a nightmare that's it.
"I'll be right back yeah," I shakingly say before I go out and search for the doctor. Once I find him and explain the situation he tells me,
"Well memory loss is not uncommon for head lesions however, in the case of y/n it's hard to tell whether the loss will be temporary or permanent. You'll just have to wait it out and see I'm sorry."
