Steven had just launched Eyeball into space because he had to open the bubble he lost conciousness from lack of oxygen. After he came to his senses he saw he had just passed by a large planet with rings.
Steven: Saturn? Wow, I'm really far away from Earth. I'm hungry, and thirsty. How long have I been out here?
After a few days he lost conciousness from not eating or drinking. And then some weeks later he finally died from starvation and the bubble went away. Then the gems immediately found his dead body. When they did they all cried and when they got to Earth they buried him.
