September 2
8:00 AM"He asked you if you... watched porn too?"
Masterson nodded stifling a laugh as he clutched his bag to his shoulder. "He stood up in the middle of class and said 'Sampson jerked off all summer'."
Cortez's jaw almost dropped as he giggled, "You got to be lying. Jesus your first day was way better than mine."
The two continued their walk into the school as usual, normal conversation and greetings as they passed staff or students.
"So do you?" Cortez asked as they continued to Masterson's class. "Do I what?" Masterson asked.
"Watch porn?"
Masterson rolled his eyes as he glanced down to Cortez. "I mean I am a guy aren't I?"
"Hey I was just wondering, I didn't know if you couldn't been one of those D&D guys who's into animals or some shit." Cortez raised his arms in defense.
"I'm not into animals you freak." Masterson shoved Cortez as he propped his door open.
"Then what are you into?!" Cortez practically shouted as the two entered the classroom.
"I-"
The two paused in confusion and embarrassment in front of the door, eyes wide.
"Ms. McPhearson. What are you doing here so early?" Masterson asked, sweeping a hand through his hair.
His heart began to beat against his rib cage profusely as he slid his bag onto his desk and his palms pooled with sweat.
"I- I didn't think you would be here this early, I just w-wanted to wait till class started." Jada struggle as she swept her hair behind her ears.
"I'll see you later Masterson. Practice is at 4:30 today." Cortez nodded as he closed the door behind him, glancing towards Masterson with a look before leaving.
"I- I can leave if you want." Jada muttered shyly as she gripped the strap of her bag in her hand.
"No! No no, you don't have to leave it's fine I just... didn't expect you to be here either."
Jada nodded letting her strap fall to the floor again. Masterson brought his lips to his cup as he glanced to Jada, her legs folded underneath her in her chair. Her hair tucked into the neck of her sweatshirt and gold chains dangling from her neck.
"Well," Masterson swallowed harshly as he approached her desk gripping a chair and sitting in front of her, "I think nows a good time to finish that conversation we started during our ice breaker yesterday."
Jada nodded, a smile quickly coming to her face as her cheeks gleamed a deep red, "What, the one about you listening to Lana Del Rey?"
"I don't know who that is!" Masterson blurted.
"She sings the summertime sadness song on the radio." Jada chuckled.
"See I only like that song because of the title I don't actually listen to it on my free time."
Jada furrowed her eyebrows as she twirled her fingers around the ends of her hair, "What's wrong with Lana Del Rey?"
"Well isn't she like a trendy pop artist that every teenage girl listens to?" Masterson asked taking another sip from his mug.
"She's one of my favorite artists ever. She doesn't have a single bad song." Jada explained running her fingers along her chain.
