First Glance

My first three weeks at Forks high were pretty good. The jock I had a run in with transferred the day after the incident and nobody else bothered me. Edward wouldn't tell me exactly what they did, just that he and Emmett convinced him it might be a good idea to leave. I had grown close to Bella, Edward and his family. Even blondie was beginning to grow on me.

I woke up early one Saturday morning to find it was a gorgeous sunny day. The first since we moved here so I decided to go hiking, Maybe follow a track and explore the forest. It wasn't something I was used to or would usually do but what the heck, this place was beautiful so why not explore. I dressed in a pair of denim cutoff shorts and a loose checkered shirt, luck for me I had a pair of boots comfy enough to hike in, they were a little flashy for hiking boots but they'd do. Once I'd pushed my hair back into a ponytail I was ready to go.

After telling my mom my plans and packing a backpack with food, water and extra clothes I grabbed my Ipod and headed to the car.

Since I had no idea where I was going I stopped at the nearest gas station to get a map, lucky for me Charlie was there and he gave me a map and directions to the nearest hiking trails, then he proceeded to give me a safety talk and his cell number in case of emergencies. I was grateful for his help and gave him a wave as I pulled out of the gas station.

Once I reached my destination I headed into the forest. I had my headphones in and I sang as I followed the track, the weather warm and the air smelt so clean. This was a far cry from the city and it made me feel so calm. After around an hour of hiking I couldn't spot the trail markers. I continued on going the way which looked more used and before I noticed the small ravine it was too late. I lost my footing and slipped letting out a small scream before I felt my head connect with a rock, Then everything went black.

*Pauls POV*

Patrolling is the last thing I want to be doing on a day like this. The sun is shining for once and I'm stuck on patrol.

Dude get over it we're both stuck on patrol lets just get it done quickly so we can go to the beach

Jacobs voice filled my head and I rolled my eyes as I continued running. Out of nowhere I heard singing, the voice was soft and beautiful.

"R.I.P to the girl you used to see, her days are over baby shes over. I decided to give you all of me baby come closer baby come closer"

I found myself being drawn to this voice. Like there was a string in my chest pulling me in the direction of it.

Jake do you hear that voice

I thought aloud

What voice dude where are you going?

He asked. I didn't even bother answering I just took off towards the angelic singing. It was getting louder.

"i wonder if you'll be able to handle me mental pictures no camera please"

All of a sudden the singing stopped and I heard a piercing scream followed by silence. Picking up speed and I could hear Jacob following me. I quickly phased back to my human form as I came close to a ravine and I looked down to see a girl lying at the bottom.

Oh shit

I slid down as quick as I could and checked her pulse, she was still breathing but there was blood coming from a gash on her head. By now Jacob had reached us. I tried to wake her gently

"hey wake up can you hear me?"

I softly rubbed her cheek as I spoke to her. Her eyes fluttered open and she looked straight at me. At that moment I froze, it felt as though time stood still. Everything around me blurred everything except her. It felt like gravity was no longer anchoring me to this earth, She was. In that moment I felt as though I couldn't live without her. She was my world. Shit...I just imprinted.

*Jades POV*

I could hear someone talking to me. A deep rugged voice, I felt my heart speed up as he spoke. When I managed to open my eyes I looked straight into a pair of the most gorgeous brown eyes I had ever seen in my life. It was like I couldn't see anything but him and for some reason I had the urge to kiss him. I held his gaze for a few seconds before the dizziness in my head got too much and I passed out again.

*Pauls POV*

I picked her up as gently as I could, holding her frail body as close as possible.

"Paul we have to take her to Carlisle"
I just nodded as Jacob gave me instructions. He phased and ran ahead to let the leeches know we were coming and I ran as fast as possible without hurting her any more than she already was. I just hope she'll be ok. I only just found her and I definitely wasn't ready to lose her.

*Edwards POV*

"We have a visitor...of the furry kind"

I smirked as I heard Jacob getting closer. He was thinking aloud for me to hear.

We found an injured girl in the woods.

Paul imprinted on her.

There's alot of blood, she has a head injury.

Then I saw her face. It was Jade.

I leapt out of my seat before telling Carlisle and Bella and warning the rest of my family that Jade was on her way and that there was a lot of blood, they quickly left out the back door to avoid it. Although my family are vegetarian we still had to be careful. I ran out to meet them and reached Paul in a matter of seconds.

"Here let me take her. Shes a friend of ours"

He growled at me so I backed off. Of course he wasn't about to hand his imprint over to a vampire. I escorted them to the house and into Carlisles study which had been turned into a makeshift hospital room.

*Pauls POV*

I placed her gently onto the bed as the doc started examining her. I couldn't take my eyes of her  as he stitched the wound on her head and cleaned it up. He checked her for any broken bones before turning to me.

"I suspect she has a concussion but other than that she's fine. We just need to let her rest and she should be up and about soon"

"thanks doc I appreciate it"

I was relieved that she was ok. Jacob came in as soon as the doc left.

"I'm going to head back and let the pack know whats going on. You stay here with her, she'll be ok here shes friends with Bella and the Cullens"

I just nodded, not taking my eyes off her beautiful face. As soon as Jacob left Bella came in.

"Her names Jade, she just moved here from California with her mom"

I didn't even bother to look at Bella as she spoke. So my beauty has a name. Jade. Hot name. Bella told me about Jade's first day at Forks high and the jock who tried to jump her. I felt anger start to course through my body and I wanted to find that scumbag and tear him limb from limb. Before my anger got out of control I felt her hand squeeze mine. I looked down as she started to stir and almost immediately calmed down. Her eyes fluttered open and she looked straight at me and smiled, her free hand coming up to cup my cheek.

"It's you. You saved me"
