Bonfires Wolves And Secrets

School was more bearable since I met Paul. Although he went to school on the reservation we would text each other all the time. He was so sweet and caring. He made me forget all about my past and what I had been through. I continued to hang out with Bella and the Cullens.

Wednesday afternoon as we made our way to the car park I spotted Paul leaning against Bellas truck. My heart raced as I saw him. I rushed over and without thinking leapt into his arms hugging him tight. When I realised what I was doing I quickly let go of him blushing as I did

"Hey Paul, what are you doing here?"

"I'm here to see you and to ask if you would maybe want to come to a bonfire at first beach this weekend. We gather and the tribe elders tell the legends of our people"

I was intrigued by the idea plus I wouldn't mind spending more time with Paul.

"I'd love to"

*Pauls POV*

I couldn't believe she leapt into my arms but I'm glad she did. I loved the feeling of her body against mine. I decided to tell her all about the wolves and the imprint after the bonfire. Hopefully she would take it well but from what the pack have been saying this imprint is stronger than any of the others that have imprinted. I kissed her cheek before she climbed into Bellas truck.

"i guess i'll see you friday night. I'll pick you up around 5"

She smiled and waved. I watched as they drove away smiling to myself. Just as I was turning to leave my smile dropped.

"Well well well I see you move on fast. The new girl Paul, already"

I turned and came face to face with Cami, Forks high schools wannabe queen bee. I had hooked up with her a couple times but dumped her because she was clingy and a complete bitch.

"what do you you want Cami?"

"Oh come on Paul you can't tell me you don't miss me. We had so much fun together, and you want to throw it all away for her"

I sneered at her causing her to take a step back.

"SHE is better than you will ever be, now get out of my face"

I turned to walk back towards the forest ignoring Cami's threats.

"You'll regret leaving me Paul"

*Jades POV*

I was so excited for the bonfire. I'd get to see Paul and his friends again and Emily.

The next few days at school breezed by except I seemed to have made an enemy of Cami, one of the popular girls. I had no idea why she didn't like me though.

"Shes jealous that your with Paul"

I looked up at Edward as he and Bella sat down at the table across from me. I looked at him puzzled, he always seemed to know what u was thinking.

"What do you mean? Paul and I are just friends, Why would she be jealous?"

"Her and Paul had a fling a while back but he dumped her and she saw you two together in the carpark. Shes trying to think of ways to break you two up"

I count help but laugh

"But Paul and I aren't even together and if we were I'd like to see her try"

I glared at Cami across the room, ignoring Bella and Rosalies taunts about me being feisty. There was no way I'd let her take Paul from me. We may not be together but I was not about to let her get her claws on him.

As soon as Bella dropped me home on friday I raced to my room to get ready. I showered and let me hair dry naturally before pulling on a pair of denim shorts that ended just above the knee, a hoodie and some sandals. I put a beanie on my head and applied a little makeup. By the time I was finished I got a.text from Paul saying he was on his way. I reminded him of my address. I wrote a quick note for my mom telling her where I was going then went outside to wait for Paul. He pulled up in a truck a little while later. I climbed in next to him and we headed to La Push.

Paul and I walked hand in hand to the beach where we met up with his friends and their families. He introduced me to the tribes elders and I couldn't help notice the way they exchanged curious looks when they shook hands.

After a feast around the bonfire we settled in as the elders told stories about their ancestors. I was intrigued as the told the story of the third wife.and the cold ones but the thing that interested me the most was about how the Quileute ancestors were shape shifting wolves who protected the tribe from the cold ones or vampires.

*Pauls POV*

I watched her face light up as she listened to the old legends. Every now and then she would squeeze my arm excitedly. I leaned over towards her whispering in her ear.

"can we go for a walk"

She simply nodded so I stood up and took her hand pulling her down the beach with me. I was nervous as I tried to work up the courage to tell her the truth

"Paul are you ok?"

She stopped walking and I turned to face her. Well here goes.

*Jades POV*

"the stories you heard tonight, they're all real"

I laughed, come on Paul are you serious. Vampires and wolves yeah sure.

"Paul are you trying to scare me?"

He sighed, looking down at the sand. He took a few steps back and I instantly regretted laughing at him.

"Jade please don't be scared, close your eyes"

I did as I was told. I heard a zipper then what sounded like ripping then I felt something furry on my hand so I opened my eyes and instead of seeing Paul, in his place stood a huge wolf. It stood as tall as me and had grey fur.

I stood frozen to the spot as the wolf bowed it's head taking a step toward me. Despite the huge wolf standing in front of me I wasn't scared at all. I ran a hand through the fur on it's head

"Paul is that you?"

The wolf nodded, pressing it's head into my chest. My heart was racing as I ran my hands over his head and down his neck.

"Your beautiful"

*Pauls POV*

My heart swelled at her words. I quickly turned around and phased back pulling my shorts on as I did. I picked my shirt up and walked towards her. Sliding it over my head I faced her

"Jade thats not all. You heard the story about imprinting and view we find our soul mates. She nodded her head then I saw it, realisation.

"did you imprint on me?"

"i did. They day I found you in the ravine I felt as though something was pulling me in your direction. I heard you singing. It was the imprint pulling me to you. I have to say this I love you, with everything I have I want..."

Before I could finish what I was saying she leapt into my arms wrapping her arms around my neck and pressing her lips to mine. I could feel the energy coursing through our bodies. I tightened my hold on her body not wanting to let her go.

*Jades POV*

It all made sense the way I was feeling. The instant connection I felt with him and the need to be with him. The whole wolf thing didnt scare me at all either. If anything I admired him and the pack for what they were doing. Protecting their people and land.

Kissing Paul was intense but in a good way. I could feel the passion and love he felt for me and I can honestly say I felt the same for him. When we finally pulled apart I smiled pressing my forehead to his.

"I can feel it too. The imprint, I've felt it side the day I met you"

"Be mine Jade. I love you and I need you by my side. I promise I will protect you"

I simply nodded before hugging him. He drive me straight home promising to reintroduce me to the pack tomorrow. When we reached my place I insisted he come I'm and stay the night. I just wasn't ready to let him out of my sight yet. My mom was sitting at the kitchen table drinking tea when Paul and I walked in.

"mom I want you to meet Paul"

*Jades moms POV*

As soon as I looked at them I saw him I knew what he was. A wolf and my guess was he had imprinted on my daughter. oh yeah I knew all about the Quileute tribe.
