The Seekers [PAUSED]

Chapter 3 : Extraordinary

There it was . A dark creature, the first one I ever encountered. 20 feet tall , a Spiderwick Viper , or whatever Damon called it. It was an 8 legged crawling spider covered in raven black scales . It had 6 eyes coloured in blood red and it's fangs were oozing with purple goo. It's high pitched shriek sliced through the air again and everyone shut their ears with their hands. Dark mist cloaked it's body and it made it's way towards us.

"Now !" Damon screamed.

In lightning speed, the Shadow seekers bolted towards the dark creature. Jean shot flaming arrows from each corner, making the dark creature shriek in pain .  One of the arrows shot the creature by it's eye and it began thrashing around and shooting the purple goo from it's fangs to it's surroundings. Everything it touched, began to melt.

"Don't touch it !" Damon warned. " It's spiderwick venom ! It'll turn you back into atoms ! Maddison , you know what to do ! ."

"On it !" Maddison said. "Neutr!" she chanted, and all the venom glowed and disappeared, leaving the objects it touched intact.

"Woah.." I said in awe. Maddison smiled politely at me.

Just then , mason made a pair of goggles appear  in his hands, he looked at me and jokingly said " it comes with the chainsaw." He put on the laboratory looking goggles and as he turned on the chainsaw, it's blade began to glow. 

"Bee ar bee ." he said , and he jumped into the sky slicing the dark creature in half. 

"Is it dead ?" I asked. 

Silence.

Suddenly, a purple coloured mist began to cloud over the creature, and it stuck the creature back together.

"Is that supposed to do that?" I asked again.

"No, it can't be. Maddison ! Take out the C-Dial ! Dial the ministry NOW ! " Damon ordered.

Maddison hurriedly took out a touch screen looking PDA and she dialed some numbers. 

"Hello , Seeker Ministry ." a robotic said.

"Code 003! Code 003" Damon shouted.

Silence.

" QST036 please evacuate the area." the robotic voice said again.

"You heard them guys. Let's go!" He ordered. The team transformed back into their normal form and just after they were about to leave, men in black suits arrived at the skate park . 

" QST036,leave the skate park before things get out of hand." one man said. The dark creature began to hiss and it approached the men. 

"Leave now ! " he repeated.

The dark creature began to slither now, it was transforming into a snake. We left the park to let the more 'professional' seekers handle it , that is until Damon stopped walking and said " Why don't we see how they do it."

"We're not allowed to Damon. Their slayers." Mason said.

"Let's get out before they catch us and take away our abilities" said Jean.

"wait.. slayers?" I asked. 

"Yea , slayers. Slayers are the most professional team of seekers who have mastered their abilities and their job is to handle the higher classed creatures and classified creatures." Damon replied.

"So you mean to say that there are also ranks for seekers? and higher classed creatures?"

"Yes, for each individual seeker, a rank is given. The lowest rank is called the 'hide and seek' or 'H&S' . That's for the beginners, like you. You're rank increases after completing a mission or slaying a certain amount of dark creatures. Jean and I are 'Death Seekers' , a rank lower than a slayer . Maddison and Mason are ' Q-Seekers' or qualified seekers. And about higher classed creatures , a creature has different levels, the higher level or 'class' it is, the stronger it is. Class E & D are the not-so-tough creatures, class D&C are for the intermediate creatures and class B&A are the advanced creatures. The one we encountered just now , it was a class A creature but it didn't die like it was supposed to. We were told to report if a creature doesn't die after you kill it, so I did. Now , we're going to find out why. Let's go"

We hid behind one of the skating ramps and watched what was going on. Man in black 1 changed his scythe into a machine gun and shot the creature, but the purple mist healed the creature. One other man opened a briefcase and took out a glowing green bullet and gave it to man in black 1 who loaded it in his gun and shot it at the creature. The dark creature landed it's head with a thump , and black mist began to scatter everywhere.

As the mist cleared up, it revealed a person. A very pale person. I squinted my eyes too see better and I think she was wearing a nurses outfit. One man pulled her up by the collar and slumped her on his back. I got a quick glance at her face.

It was the nurse who let me out this morning. 

What the hell was going on ? As the men in black left with her and disappeared in the dark , the shadow seekers huddled into a circle.

"Okay guys, what the hell. Did I just see a dark creature turn into a person" Mason said.

"That was a bit .. weird . Do you think that's what the ministry was talking about? " Jean asked.

"I don't know, but I think what we just saw was a classified dark creature." Damon replied. Damon looked at me ," Emily, what's wrong? why are you so pale? scared from all the action?" he asked.

"No," i said, " that person. She was the nurse who took off my IV this morning. I thought I saw some dark mist trailing her but .. I wasn't sure" 

"Creepy.." Maddison mumbled.

"So what now? where are they taking her?" asked Jean.

"Probably to the seeker's research lab.." Maddison shuddered.

"Well then, what we saw is classified between us. Tomorrow, meet me here at the same place again ok shadow seekers. Emily, tomorrow you'll see our meeting room and training room, we're going to teach you how to bring back lost souls and how to slay dark creatures." Damon said smiling.

"This time I won't have to watch and learn myself right" I lifted one eyebrow.

"Yea, I promise." Damon said. " Okay everyone, see you tomorrow!"

"Bye." Maddison and Mason said at once.

"Bye" Jean said and left.

"See you, bye!" I said , and Ieft the skate park too.

It was a weird day. Extraordinary I would say. I flipped my phone open to see the digital watch blinking "9:30 p.m" and a new message , I pray it's not mom. I opened the message and it read ;

"Sorry about today. It didn't go as planned. Don't forget tomorrow at 10 a.m , skate park ! By the way kiddo,  if you ever need help , just dial this number. See you tomorrow , bye. - Damon"

I smiled, then it hit me. How'd he get my phone number ?!! I thought . Well , it's been a long day . I guess the way the Shadow Seekers work is a mystery .. and what happened to that nurse?
