Cody's POV
After taking a shower, I put on my black tuxedo. Once I got ready, I grabbed my phone and went downstairs. This evening, I was attending the part in Morgan's mansion with my parents. Samuel invited us and Tristan with his wife, but Tristan went to Italy for his new project two days ago. Mila was accompanying him. So they couldn't have attended the party. They would be going back tomorrow.
I was messaging with Tristan while sitting on the back seat of my father's car. My father suggested that I went with them in the car because there was no meaning for going with two cars. So I accepted. On the other hand, tonight I could drink alcohol because I wasn't going to drive.
As soon as we walked into the mansion, Samuel and his wife, Mara greeted us. My eyes were searching for Emily, but she wasn't seen. Then we walked towards the living room.
I was sipping my champagne while chatting with a well-known businessman, Ethan Carter. He was one of the influential businessmen in the world. I had known him from college. As much as I wanted to focus on our conversation, but my mind was elsewhere. More correctly, Emily. I hadn't still seen her. On the other hand, Jenna wasn't here either. I wasn't in the mood to see her dirty looks or acid remarks. I heard it when her mother was talking to some woman. She was on a vacation with her husband. Suddenly, my eyes found Emily. She walked into the living room with a girl, smiling happily. She looked stunning in her backless silver long chiffon dress. As soon as she saw me, she gave me her dazzling smile.
"Excuse me, Ethan. I need to talk with my co-partner." I said, giving Ethan an apologetic look.
"Sure." He nodded and walked towards his wife.
I approached Emily without managing to take my eyes off her like I was enchanted. I kissed her cheek as I greeted her. I closed my eyes as her mind-blowing scent filled my nostrils.
I was beside my parents while they were talking to my father's friend. Meanwhile, I was looking at Emily. She was talking to the girls.
Should I ask her to dance with me? No. It was out of question.
If Samuel saw us dancing, no one could save me from his wrath. He was too protective towards Emily. I hated it. On the other hand, my father wouldn't be so happy either. I sighed and took a sip from my champagne.
I rolled my eyes in annoyance as I saw David Andrews and his wife Carol Andrews approaching us. I hated his wife. She was a gossipmonger. If she saw or heard any secrets, in a few minutes, the whole country would know about it.
Suddenly, I noticed that Emily walked towards the garden alone. I instantly placed my glass on the table and followed her before David and Carol came near us.
I placed my hand into my pocket as I approached Emily slowly. She was watching the fountain while wrapping her arms around her. There wasn't anyone in this part of the garden. So finally, we were alone.
"Hey." I said as I stood behind her.
She instantly turned around in surprise, letting our eyes meet. I gave her a smile. There were a few inches between us.
"Hey." She mumbled and bit her lower lip shyly as she took a step back.
"I think you need some fresh air like me." I commented, looking into her eyes.
"Yes, I don't like parties so much." She confessed and gave me her dazzling smile.
"I wanted to ask you to dance with me there, but your father would kill me." I admitted, giving her a playful grin.
She chuckled and said. "Yes, it is one of the possibilities."
"But he isn't here. So..." I paused as I took a step towards her. "Would you like to dance with me?" I asked huskily, looking into her eyes.
"Umm..." She bit her lower lip nervously and nodded, giving me a shy smile.
I wrapped my arms around her waist, pulling her closer to me. She wrapped her arms around my neck, and we started dancing while looking into each other's eyes. It felt like the time stopped.
"You are so beautiful." I whispered in her ear as I leaned towards her. I closed my eyes, breathing in her scent.
"Thanks." She mumbled nervously.
I pressed her against my body, drunk in her scent, my eyes closed.
"I...I need to go inside." She mumbled as she pulled back suddenly, catching me off guard. I stumbled, losing my balance and stepped on her dress. Her eyes widened in shock when her spaghetti strap got ripped, revealing her bare breast as the right part of her dress slid down. I gulped, staring at her breast. She instantly covered her breast with her hand, while holding the dress against her chest with her other hand as her cheeks turned crimson red.
"I am so sorry, Emily." I said hurriedly as soon as I managed to take my eyes off her breast and took off my tuxedo jacket.
As I wanted to pull my jacket over her shoulders she said, embarrassed. "I will..."
When she wanted to grab my jacket quickly, she pulled her hands away from her dress reflectively, making her dress slide down. Then she instantly tried to grab her dress. When I wanted to cover her with my jacket in a hurry, we lost our balance and fell down to the ground. She was on top of me, her chest almost bare as the dress slid down more while my arm wrapped around her waist and my other hand rested....on her breast. Her cheeks turned crimson red as she saw my hand on her bare breast.
"I...I am..." I mumbled awkwardly and wanted to pull my hand away.
"What the hell is going on here?!" Both of us froze as we heard her father's shout. I gulped in fear and instantly pulled my hand away from Emily's breast as I cursed under my breath.
