A/N:
We're entering the final chapters now~

It's gonna be a lot different from the book and the movie, but I think it's satisfying :)

Let me know what you think!

THE NEXT DAY, Vince took the stand and explained the plan to the entire congregation.

Frankie watched the briefing from the sideline, sitting by the door of her appointed tent.

Brenda had scolded her for overusing her legs (but she couldn't exactly take her KAFO off while being kidnapped and shoved around yesterday, could she?) and ordered her to stop using her orthosis until she had to tomorrow. Or at least until the rashes and bruises had quite faded.

Minho came over in a fresh, clean sleeveless t-shirt bearing two bottled beverages and two plain breads.

"They looked at me weird when I ordered two sandwiches and two lattes from the food storage," Minho said as he sat beside her. He handed her one of each and she reached out to take it, "So, is this our date?"

"I'm gonna have to take a rain check on that. This is so not what I had in mind."

"This is fine."

"Because you're with me, anywhere's fine, right?"

Frankie laughed, "Get over yourself."

She would never admit that out loud.

"I asked Gally to make us his drinks," Minho said, clinking his bottle of isotonic drink with hers, "But he said we can't go into the paradise drunk."

"He's got a point."

"Are you afraid?"

Frankie paused and thought of her answer for awhile. "No. I was kind of hoping we'd stumble into a hidden paradise somewhere."

"I imagined a nice, city life, but not after what I saw inside Denver," Minho said, taking a sip, "Too bad there's no sandwich shop in that jungle paradise."

"What is it with you and sandwich?"

"It's— Don't tell anyone, but it's way better than Frypan's nasty casserole."

"Whoa! Careful, that's a very high standard."

"I know! But it's true!"

"You can't run as a living anymore. Why not try opening one?"

"You think?"

"No, I'm kidding. You'll wipe out the rest of humanity with stomachache and diarrhea."

Minho scoffed through his smile, "Thanks for the encouragement, Frank."

"You're welcome." Frankie took a deep breath and sighed, "This is it, huh? Running away from the rest of the world."

"You've seen the Cranks, Frank," Minho sighed. He leaned forward, planting his elbows on his knees. "They're impossible to live alongside with."

Just then, Newt's laughter over Reggie's daddy jokes exploded and captured their attention. Frankie just realized that Vince's announcement had ended.

"He's getting back to his old self lately."

"I still can't believe the enzyme thing worked. You think it will work on other people, too, if we give them a try?"

Frankie shrugged, "Between saving a bunch of Cranks or you, I choose you."

Minho looked at her and smiled broadly, showing off his adorable dimples, "Awh! That's the most romantic thing I've heard since forever!"
