"Then start talking." Auntie Aurora says, crossing her arms across her chest with a distasteful look on her face.
"W-well, where do I start..." Y/N says, stuttering and looking nervously at the floor.
Y/N starts tells her everything. About us being together for over two years. About our confessions towards each other from before. About the fear we felt of telling Auntie Aurora or of her finding out like she did. The fear of her not approving of us or how we felt. About the worst case scenarios of being separated and never being able to see each other again because of Auntie Aurora's rage.
After hearing Y/N's explanation, Auntie Aurora lets her arms rest by her sides. She sighs and leans against the doorway frame before speaking.
"You know you didn't have to sneak around like that right? Especially now, that just shows you don't trust me enough to tell me." Aurora says, looking at us sternly.
Y/N and I stay silent, looking down at our feet in shame and disappointment.
"You two are almost adults now, you're not children who think the world is after you anymore." She says.
"...but I understand why you would think that I wouldn't approve.." Aurora says, her voice sounding softer.
"I know I can come off as being overbearing and protective but that's my job as your family and as your guardian. But...as of now. I'm realizing that you're old enough to make your own decisions, that you're old enough to protect yourself instead of having someone protect you. And as you get older, I can't make protect you as much as I want to, I can only guide you and hope you make those decisions." She says.
Y/N looks up at Auntie Aurora in shock and smiles to herself.
"And Asra." She says, making me lift my head up to look at her.
Auntie Aurora walks over to us and puts her hand on my shoulder, smiling gently at me.
"I trust you to protect her. To be there for her when I no longer can." Aurora says.
"I will." I respond, taking Y/N's hand in mine.
"And if I ever find out you hurt her in any way, you'll have me to deal with." She says, squeezing my shoulder tightly.
"Y-yes ma'am, understood." I stutter, fearing the countless possibilities of what could happen to me if I ever hurt Y/N. Not that I want to or intend to.
"Thank you Auntie." Y/N says, walking over to Auntie Aurora and hugging her tightly.
Auntie Aurora smiles and hugs her back, ruffling her hair as Y/N chuckles.
"You're welcome, now Asra go home before I kick you out for fooling around with my niece." Aurora says, crossing her arms and tapping her foot.
I smile and nod, squeezing Y/N's hand and letting it go.
"I'll see you both tomorrow." I say, waving at them and walking over to the window.
I get ready to climb down until I hear Auntie Aurora clear her throat and call out to me.
"You know, there's a door downstairs right?" Aurora says while raising an eyebrow at me.
Y/N giggles and tries to stifle them by covering her mouth with her hand. I blush while laughing nervously, realizing how strange I must look in front of my lover and her aunt.
"R-right. I knew that." I say, laughing nervously.
I walk past Y/N and Auntie Aurora, walking down the stairs.
"How often does he come by like this?" I hear Auntie Aurora question as I walk down the stairs.
"W-well..." Y/N says, laughing nervously as I walk out through the back door.
I walk out the door and close it behind me. I walk down the alleyway again, seeing Y/N's bedroom window still open and still lit up by the small candles in her room. I hear footsteps around Y/N's room and they flow my fade away. I look up to see Y/N with her head out the window, looking down at me and smiling while waving.
"Goodnight Asra." She says, continuing to smile.
I smile and wave back at her.
"Goodnight princess, sweet dreams." I say, blowing a kiss to her.
Y/N blushes and I chuckle softly at her reaction. I turn around and start walking off back home. I can't help but miss her already but I know we won't have to hide our love in fear of rejection.
