A few hours have passed and guests have already arrived at the palace. I stand on the balcony, looking down into the palace gardens. Watching as guests mingle amongst themselves, drinking from their chalices and conversing. As I watched them, a sickly pale and familiar figure stood in the shadows beside me, staying out of view from the masquerade guests. It's none other than Lucio himself.
"Asra, I hate waiting. I hate watching other people party." He says, reminding me of a whining child who did get a treat when someone else did.
I choose not to respond. I close my hands over the raining, seeing as my knuckles tense and turn white. His very presence makes my blood boil.
"Are you even listening to me?!" Lucio shouts, trying to get my attention but I remain unfazed.
"No." I respond coldly.
That one word contained an ocean of contempt. I loath Lucio with everything in my being. Anyone can tell with the tension in the air between us, it's so think you could cut it with a knife. Lucio's presence makes my skin crawl and leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
"You should scurry back to your room. Someone might see you like this." I state.
Lucio laughs harshly but it quickly dissolved into a sickly and gross fit of coughs. It doesn't seem like he even registered what I had said just told him. After his coughing fit he takes a deep breath and composes himself, cleaning his throat.
"Look at all those ingrates, partying without me." He says, sneering down at the guests.
"Jokes on them. Soon, I'll be ready to party in my new body. More handsome than ever!" Lucio says excitedly.
An overwhelming wave of disgust washes over me and I leave in the balcony without another word, leaving Lucio behind. I walk away and ponder to myself but my thoughts revolve around one thing. Lucio's blood. The key ritual component which the unsuspecting guests will drink at dinner.
I walk down to the main room where most of the gussets are at. I walk over to one of the fountains and grab a silver chalice, holding it up and letting it fill with sweet tea from one of its streams. I then walk over to the nearest sidelines, leaning against the wall and sipping my tea while watching the guests enjoy themselves. I need to find a way to sabotage this ritual in order to get the body for Y/N. The more I think about it, the more nervous and anxious I get. My stomach turns into knots and my throat tightens from my nerves. What if it fails? What if I mess up? What if Y/N doesn't come back to me? As I continue to scare myself and get even more nervous I see a familiar figure walking up to me with a kind smile present on their face, it's Nadi.
I watch as she stands besides me and joins with me on the sidelines, looking at me with acute concern on her face. She wore a white leotard with tight white pants. A large red overcoat and black leather gloves along with matching boots. Gold accents across her body and decorated around her waist. Adorned with oriole and gold shoulder plates and gold accessories along her hair and on her ears. Her hair braided loosely with a few strands of hair out.
