RORY, THOMAS AND ARIS wriggled there way through the vents as quickly as possible trying to make it back to the remaining gladers who had no idea what was going on.
thomas forcefully kicked open the thin sheet of metal and bounded into the room repeating over and over again the same phrase, "they're coming". of course nobody had any idea what he was going on about, but this didn't stop rory and thomas from grabbing blankets and tying them against the door to stop the inevitable arrival of janson.
the rest of the boys started trying the two to calm down and get them to explain but it was no use, thomas just kept repeating over and over 'they're coming for us' and rory continued to tie anything she could find to the door to make it hard to enter. seeing that they were being ignored from rory and getting the same answer from thomas the remaining boys realised they weren't going to get any answers off of the duo so they turned their attention to aris and bombarded the confused boy with a million questions per second.
"thomas, just calm down tell us what happened." newt pleaded in an attempt to get his friends attention. "i-it's her" thomas stuttered finally giving in.
"who teresa ?" a different boy questioned. "no" rory interrupted.
"it's paige, ava paige." thomas snapped at the two, "it's WICKED, it's always been WICKED." all the questioning directed at the three stopped and silence overcame them, their eyes widened in disbelief as thomas placed a mattress against the door.
"thomas, aurora" newt pleaded finally breaking the silence, "what did you see ?" the duo turned around to face the rest of the boys before gathering a brief explanation trying not to miss out any details.

the newly acquainted group busted through a square metal door into a deserted hallway with thomas in the lead and rory trailing behind the group. "c'mon come on, let's go !" thomas demanded after checking if the coast was clear.
"you guys go there's something i've got to do" aris told the group.
"are you out of your mind aris ? you can't leave me " rory exclaimed raising her voice slightly at the boy standing before her.
"rory, i've got to do this it's important." he said determination written on his face. "jus- just promise you'll be safe and make it out alive."
