Chapter 5

You and Lux wave goodbye to Kaio, as he runs "home." (to work, actually)

"He sure is energetic." Lux says.

"Mhm." You reply, remembering the mini food fight the three of you had at lunch.

"So do you have any place in particular you'd like to hang out at?" Lux asks.

"No."

"How about the mall?"

You nod.

"That sounds great."

You follow Lux out of the school and towards the busy town area.

You looked around, noticing many couples, some with children.

"Y/N?"

You turn to Lux, who slightly chuckles.

"Are you feeling okay? The mall's this way."

"Oh, right!"

You follow him through the busy crowd, unbeknownst to you both, that someone else was following you both as well.

You walk through the doors of the mall, Lux right behind you.

"Any particular store you want to check out?" Lux asks.

You shake your head.

"Just walking will be fine."

As the two of you walk, you tell each other about yourselves.

Lux had a twin sister who attended a different school, however.

He still slept with stuffed animals and loved peaceful night time walks.

"And that's when-

Lux's talking was interrupted by his stomach.

He smiles.

"I guess even my own stomach doesn't like hearing me."

You chuckle and Lux smiles in embarrassment.

"How about we go get something to eat?"

You nod.

"That sounds fine."

Lux asks you where you'd like to eat and you tell him whatever he'd like was fine.

He leads you to the pizza booth and asks you if there's any particular topping you'd like.

"(Insert favorite pizza topping)". You respond with.

Lux nods and tells the cashier to add your requested topping.

"That'll be $9.25." The cashier says, with a moodless expression on his face.

Lux begins to pay, but you stop him.

"If it isn't a bother, I'd like to pay half, too." You offer.

He smiles and shakes his head.

"This one's on me. It's the least I can do for having a beautiful girl hangout with me."

You look down at your feet, a wacky smile plastered across your face.

"Now, how about we find somewhere to sit?"

You nod and follow Lux to a table for two.

The both of you watch as couples talked and ate with each other.

Your mind started to wander off as you daydreamt about one of those couples eventually being you and Lux.

"Y/N?"

Your head turns to Lux, who tilted his head slightly and smiled.

"Oh, I'm sorry."

Your face reddens as Lux's eyebrows narrow.

"Are you sure you're okay? If you don't feel well, we can leave."

"I'm fine. I promise."

A weird smile forms on Lux's face.

"Well, if you say so."

The cashier then calls out you and Lux's order and he excuses himself to get it.

You watch as the boy makes his way over and thanks the cashier.

He walks back over and opens the box.

"Here, you can choose which slice you want first."

"Lux, I-

He only pushes the pizza box towards you.

"I insist." He says with a happy smile on his face.

You smile and grab a slice, taking a bite.

Lux watches as you eat and you look up.

"I'm sorry. I thought watching you eat was kinda cute." He says, rubbing the back of his neck.

"That's alright." You reply.

Lux takes a bite out of his own slice, and this time you watch him eat.

"Y/N, you're embarrassing me." He says, smiling.

"Now you know how I felt?"

Lux nods and smiles.

Suddenly, someone grabs your arm.

"Hey!" You shout.

You look up to see a very familiar face looking down at you.

"Pardon me, but I'm Y/N's brother."

The familiar face turns towards you.

"Mom says you still have chores to do."

Lux stares at you and the older male.

"I'm sorry, Lux." You say, anger boiling inside of you.

"That's fine. See you tomorrow then?"

"Yeah. Goodbye."

Lux waves as he watches you get dragged away.

Once you're out of sight, he sighs and throws the pizza box away, heading home.

"What the hell is wrong with you?!"

Daisuke smirks and starts the car.

"Nothing, I don't think so."

"That's not what I meant. I was having a wonderful time, until-

"There was another disappearance at around 11:30 last night." He interrupts.

You sigh.

"This person is seriously ruining my freedom."
