You put your bags in the trunk and close it, before hopping in the passenger side of the car.
Kaio pulls out of the parking lot and heads for the secluded area, which was about 30 minutes away.
"I still don't understand why you have to drive. I don't feel safe in here at all." Lux says.
"Can you shut up and let him drive? At least he knows how to drive." You reply back.
"I didn't ask for your input, ugly."
Suddenly Kaio slams on the brakes.
He turns around and forcefully grabs Lux by his shirt.
"Listen, I don't care what shit you have to say about me, but I will not let you disrespect Y/N like that."
Your eyes widen.
The happy boy now had the most serious look on his face.
He throws Lux back into his seat, before continuing to drive.
The rest of the car ride was silent and for once, you got to see a new side of Kaio.
Kaio parks the car and gets out slamming the door.
You get out, followed by Lux.
The three of you take your bags out of the trunk, before walking into the house that Daisuke said you'll be staying in.
Kaio opens the door and walks in first.
"This place looks old and creepy."
"I mean we are in the middle of nowhere, stupid." Lux says.
He walks upstairs to go find a room to put his stuff in.
"Is it okay if we share a room, Y/N. I'm just not a big fan of old houses."
You nod.
"That's fine."
Kaio smiles and walks upstairs.
He finds a bedroom with two beds in it.
"I think this one should be fine."
You peek inside.
It look kind of haunted, but the whole house did, so you shrug it off.
The two of you place your bags inside, before going off to find Lux.
"You know, Kaio. We don't have to find him. Maybe we should just let him find his way to us."
Kaio nods.
"I see where you're coming from, but even though he was rude to the two of us, it'd still be rude to leave him scared and afraid."
You giggle.
Another thing about Kaio was that he became nice to everyone. Friends, enemies, you name it.
The two of you walk downstairs to find Lux waiting in the foyer.
"It's about time."
Just as you were about to say something, Kaio stops you.
"There's no need in wasting any breath of air on him."
You nod and follow Kaio out the front door.
The three of you gather in the front lawn, you discussing the plan.
"Alright, from now to around 12 A.M., we'll carefully watch if anyone suspiciously comes through this route."
"Where do we watch from?" Lux asks.
"You'll see when we get there." You snapback.
Lux raises a brow but follows you and Kaio towards your stakeout place.
That's when Kaio points at something.
"Awwwwww! Y/N, look!"
You stare at what Kaio was pointing to and smile.
"A bunny. That's cute."
You look further ahead and frown.
"I don't think its mother is coming back anytime soon, though."
Kaio looks ahead and frowns.
"Let's give her a proper burial."
"Ahem!"
The two of you turn around to see Lux with his arms folded.
"We're here to catch a killer, not catch bunnies!"
You sigh.
He was right, but you couldn't just let the poor thing fend for itself. It was only a baby.
You pick him up as Kaio finishes up burying the mother.
"Like it or not, we're taking him along." You say to Lux.
The angry male groans as you and Kaio walk ahead.
Kaio takes off his jacket and wraps the bunny inside, its little nose twitching at the sudden warmth.
"It may be hungry, too." You say, taking a piece of lettuce out of your lunch bowl.
You hold it in front of the bunny and it starts to chew on the lettuce.
"Here."
Kaio hands you the bunny and you continue to feed it.
"This is ridiculous. Caring for a random animal you two found on the side of the road. The thing can have rabies or something!" Lux says.
"Well, at least we made it to our stakeout place."
Lux points at an old shack.
"That?!"
You two nod.
"From hear, we'll be able to see who or what passes through this route." Kaio replies.
Lux enters first and coughs, knocking down a cobweb.
"This place is disgusting!"
The three of you take a seat near the window and watch.
"Awww, Kaio. Its sleeping now."
Kaio looks over and smiles.
You gently place the jacket down next to you and look out the window.
Little did any of you know, that the bunny would become a huge help later on.
