"Everything should be okay," Rey said and placed her hand at hyperspace levers, "can I?"
"Aargh," Chewie nodded.
"Yes," Poe said.
"Aaaayaaa," the porg nest screamed from the back seat next to Poe.
"Alright," she pulled the levers up and the Falcon entered the hyperspace again, "Threepio, do we have any problems?" Rey increased her voice.
"No, miss Rey, no problems," C-3PO answered from the hull.
"Like to hear," interjected Rey and focused back on piloting. She praised herself in her mind of how practical she is although the difficulties she had repaired would fix even a small child. But then her mind flooded with thoughts of what happened to the communications. Maybe the lightning and such amount of Star Destroyers in network disrupted the signal and it had an impact just now or something like that. Or maybe it was another Sith fleet? Oh no, not this Sith again.
In a while, Chewie and Rey started conversing. Rey wanted to lighten the tense atmosphere and she began to talk about Bloggins, weird animals from Jakku, which were according to her words, the dumbest creatures in the entire galaxy but Poe wasn't involved in that debate too. He didn't pay attention at all, he was thinking. Poe didn't really know how to feel. He was both happy yet concerned. He wasn't sure what to expect when they'll arrive. He just hoped that everyone is alright and nothing happened. That was the last thing he could do at that moment. Just hoped.
He'd rather slipped into other thoughts soon. He began to believe that nothing was happening and he was just unnecessarily scared. He watched Rey, sitting in the pilot seat, didn't miss a single move full of grace. Every blink, every smile, every small toss of her hand, every lean. He could see how tired she was although she was trying to conceal it. The exhaustion looked out of her eyes.
And she had very beautiful eyes. Every time they would argue, she'd let those staring at him so intense. And when she did so, her deep hazel eyes seemed to see right into his soul. Not that he'd run-in with her just for that. He didn't even know why they would quarrel. There was something about her that made him do that. He just couldn't help. Besides, they wouldn't talk to each other normally. Only when she needed someone to trust, to whom she could confide. Poe could keep a secret very well. He wasn't such a blabbermouth as Finn, and that's why Rey discussed her problems with him. And it turned out, they both were pretty much the same. He began to like those sessions because he was able to talk over his own stuff too. She was always so understanding. But that was only when they were alone.
But why couldn't they act the same when they were among people?
Rey drew attention at counting on display. "We're here. Jumping out of hyperspace in three..." she began to count down, "two... one."
Millennium Falcon got out of the hyperspace and slowed down. In front of their sights appeared jungle moon Ajan Kloss. Everything looked from the space just fine. Maybe their fears were unnecessary after all. But it was part of their job to think about the worst, Poe guessed. Although, he will have to unlearn that habit.
Rey yawned and stretched herself. "Poe, will you take piloting instead of me for a while?" she asked all of a sudden.
Poe snapped out of his trance and incomprehensibly looked at her. "What?"
"If you take the piloting for me," Rey repeated.
"Why?"
"Well, don't know if there's going to be time so I'll use the refresher before we get off," Rey explained and Poe fulfilled the feel of victory that he is going to be able to pilot Falcon again, even just for a while. He was like a little child looking forward to this.
