"You're nothing but an unfortunate kid that a father could ever asked for. I will never admit that you're my child."
"Don't call me your mother if all you did was constantly bringing shame to this family."
"What are you going to do now? Cry to your parents because you got bullied? Oh wait, my bad. They never cared about you in the first place."
"You can't even get a simple task done completely right, what makes you think that you're worth the chance? You're just a useless pathetic kid. Grow up and do better."
The ordeal that has been tormenting her for the past few years wake her up from her slumber. Ryujin rouse herself in a sitting position, running her hands through her dishevelled hair in distress. The many voices of her parents, bullies and teachers came to haunt her once again, reminding her about her old self.
She remembered how lonely she was back then when she had nobody to listen to her.
She remembered how pathetic it felt like to acknowledge the fact that her own parents loathed her for a reason that she never knew.
She remembered how despicable she was to her bullies that caused them to constantly pick on her although she never did anything to them.
She remembered how worthless she felt when the teachers belittled her pastry skills and academic performance whenever they could.
She remembered how an angel suddenly appeared out of heaven in her life to guide her on how to love herself better and that she wasn't anything like what they said and eventually fall in love with the angel in disguise. Her. Hwang Yeji.
With Yeji, she discovered more things about herself. She learnt how to give a damn about herself first before others. She learnt how to adore her own imperfections. She learnt how to yearn for success to prove people that she was worthy enough. Nonetheless, she went to far in idolizing herself, turning her into a conceited monster who believed anyone would refuse her.
Standing tall in front of her human sized mirror in the dimly lit room of yellowish lights, Ryujin take a good look of herself in her reflection questioning her own sentiments.
'Am I a good girlfriend?'
'Am I the pushy type of partner?'
'Am I supportive of her choice?'
Her thoughts take her for a walk down to her memory lane as her lover displeased face flashed in mind.
She reminisce about Yeji who was never fond of her habit of dining at fancy restaurants because Yeji always thought that it's a waste of money and Ryujin realized she never asked about what the latter would like to have instead.
She reminisce about Yeji who had to deal with her own apprehension of doing art whilst trying her best to balance herself between their relationship and her passion and Ryujin realized that she never tried to understand the latter's feelings and that she too needed her personal space.
She reminisce about Yeji who was always avoiding fights between them, not wanting to make a fuss or causing a scene and Ryujin realized she never listened to anything the latter would have to say to stand her ground and for her take her time to see things in Yeji's perspective.
Tears of crippling affliction streamed down her cheeks as she stared at her now cracked reflection on the mirror with a knuckle covered in blood. Its been hours after the tragic incident and she still hasn't received any response from Yeji.
As much as she wanted to spam her girlfriend with more apologies, Ryujin decided to set aside her insensitivity for once and gave the girl the personal space she needs in hope that she will be forgiven someday even if she had to wait for a long time.
