"I have two bells here" Sarutobi-sensei grinned. "You three will have to get the bells in order to pass my test!" The dark skinned man stood with the bells up in one hand and his other hand on his hip. I found it to be quite the feminine pose but seemed natural on him for a man with larger than average arms.
"B-but I just finished a test sensei!" Jiraiya complained loudly from my left. I did not turn to look at him. Instead I stared at the bells and began analyzing. My brain was grateful for the distraction as my eyes moved around the field and took in my surroundings.
"Baka-sensei there's only two bells." Tsunade pointed out. I glanced at her from the corner of my mind and felt a sense of loss that she did not have better than average intelligence. It did not seem like I will be getting along with these two.
"How much time do we have." I asked as I looked into Sarutobi-sensei's eyes. The man looked relatively pleased at my question and a burst of pleasure filled me. He seemed to approve of me, that was one good thing out of this predicament. He looked up at the sky before pulling out a timer from seemingly out of nowhere and placed it on the training stump beside him.
"An hour" He pressed the button on the timer and the count down began. "Begin!"
"Kuso!" Jiraiya jumped back into the bushes, following Tsunade. I went after them and watched with a growing sense of unease as Jiraiya pawed at Tsunade.
"Get off me, bastard!" Tsunade hissed before bringing her fist on his head and knocking him out flat. I stared at the boy with a dull expression before meeting Tsunade's eyes.
"Want to work together?" I asked carefully, masking the hope I felt behind a show of indifference.
"I can take the old man myself." The girl glared before running out to the clearing.
"Ah, better luck next year." I said sourly as I looked at the dumb looking boy at my feet. I sighed before kneeling down and nudging his shoulder. The boy groaned before rolling over and looking up at me. I looked at him tiredly and decided it was worth a shot.
"Wanna work together?"
"Oro?"
"Yes?" I tilted my head and narrowed my eyes at him. "Well?"
"Ehh..why would you want to work with me?" Jiraiya looked absolutely baffled by my question. Then he looked at me with suspicion and proceeded to back away until his back hit a tree. "I'll have you know I'm straighter than a ruler! I like women! Big breasted blondes with beautiful baby-making curves!" He declared proudly.
"...good for you." I said dryly.
A moment passed as Jiraiya proceeded to stare at me with squinted eyes and a deep frown. It made him look hilariously ugly but I didn't bother with laughing at him. I wasn't in the mood for it. "Did you want to work with me or what?"
"NO!" Jiraiya screeched before booking it passed me into the clearing to have his shot at sensei. I blinked at the suddenness of it and wondered why the hell his face was so red.
I shook my head and followed after the two idiots so I can help them as much as possible.
Needless to say, Jiraiya was tied to the stump with his stomach growling in protest. I looked down at the home made food sensei had made and felt mildly disgusted at it's contents. Plain rice and dried dates. I glanced at Tsunade and noticed she was eating her meal as if it were nothing. I looked up at the starving six year old struggling in the ropes and stood. Jiraiya stopped his struggling and looked at me with childish curiosity, while Tsunade watched and continued eating her food.
