The child practically trains himself.

I gave him my journals I'd created for all my experiments and set him up in my old room. If he had questions he came down into the lab to talk as I did my experiments.

I expanded my basement to include a new room for myself, which made taking breaks from my work easier since I'd only need to walk six feet to my bed when I got tired.

I gave the eager child a training regime much like my old one when I was four, and taught him all the basics I had learned from Father. He picked things up at a faster pace than I'd ever managed which left a small twinge of jealousy in my heart, but I was mostly grateful. The boy was quite inventive as well, and I found myself learning things from him during some of our spars.

He also made sure to drag me outside into the yard everyday for sun bathing. It was something I hadn't done since my visits with Mito ended, and I was very grateful to the cheerful and kind child. I'd never met a child that was so inherently kind before. Somehow it felt like the child was sent by Kami to prove to me that not all children were evil little nitwits. Then I'd see a group of children his age being evil little nitwits and that thought would vanish.

Minato was the exception I supposed. Though he wasn't all that fazed about cutting up the cadavers for learning anatomy like I assumed he would be. He had been calm, calculating, and his generally cheerful self. He asked what each organ was, what they did, and why they did what they did with the curiosity of a happy child. It pleased me.

I gave him chakra control exercises and he completed them on his own in two weeks, so I taught him some medical ninjutsu so he could put the cadavers back together. That took him a month, but with his exceptional learning capability he managed to make a cut up cadaver look good as new. He was enthusiastic, and very touchy for a child.

Had no concept of personal space, but I found I didn't mind it too much. Some children just needed affection like that to grow into good people, and I was not adverse in helping the child become a better person than he already was. Teaching the child also helped me deal with my urge to hurry up and bring the Hokage's back to life.

Someday's I'd sit in front of the tanks and just force myself to stop wanting to jump the gun. My soul summoning jutsu was hardly perfected just yet, but rats and rabbits weren't helping me with getting anything accurate.

Finally I gave up and consulted Minato on how we should continue with this experiment. Though I did not expect the answer I got.

"Well the rabbits have been inconclusive because you can't tell if the same soul returned to the rabbit you'd killed. This type of jutsu would need to start with human testing rather than animal testing, making it a kinjutsu. Perhaps starting with the Hokage's would be a bad idea, since this jutsu looks to have a high chance of succeeding. I wouldn't want to piss them off." Minato suggested as he looked at my notes.

"High chance of succeeding?" I urged as I looked over his shoulder to see if we were seeing the same things.

"You have a lot of fuinjutsu notes in your experiment journals and I picked it up. From what I can see here-" Minato pointed at the left part of the summoning seal. "and here-" He pointed to the right. "This seal looks altogether stable and secured to the DNA you used this seal on. I imagine the only thing that would stop this from working was the possibility of reincarnation existing."

"Perhaps a child somewhere in the world will randomly become deceased." I said with a chuckle.

Minato smiled at me with something like fondness in his gaze before looking back at the journal and humming. "Well no pain no gain right? Let's revive the Hokage!"
