My mother invited un--welcomed guests.
She said that they had a child my age and that I could get along with them. She also stated that they recently moved here, and she quickly made friends with them.
I sigh. I just wanted to eat my dinner at peace but instead she invites people I don't even know. I also have to watch what I say or I'll ruin my mother's relationship with them.
I tend to say hurtful words without meaning it. I have to be on my best behaviour, if it meant having to engage with them.
Mom asks me to open the door and I froze in place when I see the stranger. His eyes sparkle and he smiles at me, like a stupid dog. "Kurosawa."
"Please.come.in," I say stiffly as I opened the door for them to enter. I immediately wanted to get up to my room and only eat when everyone was gone when my mother forced me to entertain the stranger.
I had to seat beside the stranger in the living room as my parents were busy chatting with the guests.
I looked straight ahead with a poker face. "I didn't know I'd be in your house, Kurosawa."
"Are you really this quiet?" he asks me but I don't say a thing. "--it's really lonely if you keep things to yourself you know?"
"Mind your own business," I scowl at him and watched the television like I wanted to forget he ever existed beside me.
"Do you like this show?" he says like nothing happened. Like I didn't hurt his feelings or he hasn't realized that I wanted him out of my business.
"You're weird," I mutter under my breath. "--don't talk to me."
"But I want to talk to you," he says and it takes me by surprise for a split second. I look away. "I don't want you in my life. So shut up."
