Mother handed me the grocery list.
I look at her in bewilderment. She knows very well I can't engage with people, nor learn to be kind to them.
But she gives me a sly smile and told me that I wasn't alone.
When I headed downstairs, my eyes met with the stranger. His eyes immediately sparkle as he stood up wearing casual clothes. My eyes narrowed at him.
"I'm your guide for today," he smiles and I hiss, passing by him as I head towards the door.
"I don't need your help," I grumbled, clenching on the paper. That sly mother!
We went to the grocery aisle and I told him to keep a distance from me. I didn't want anyone from school or people to know I was acquainted with this dog. But he doesn't listen.
We split up things to get and we were finished in an instance. Then we lined up to check-out the items and the stranger offers to engage with the cashier like I was a mute child.
I grabbed the grocery bags and almost shat myself with its heaviness. It was twice as heavy as I was and I grit my teeth as I walked towards the exit bending down like an old grandmother.
The stranger catches up and steals the two bags from my grasp. I gave him a glare, but he insisted and that I couldn't carry them all.
I hiss and walked in silence as he held the two bags while I walked with an empty hand.
He insisted. So it's his fault
