I forgot my umbrella.
I cursed under my breath, muttering senseless words as I watched the rain poured harder. I stop and stare above as I thought about how soaked I could be if I just dashed straight ahead home.
"You don't have an umbrella, Kurosawa?" Just his voice was enough to turn my mood sour.
The rain is pouring, I don't have an umbrella and he's here being the annoyance he is. He opens his umbrella and looks at me. "Let's go?"
"I'm not going anywhere," I gritted under my breath. He sighs and grabs my hand.
I try to yank away from his hold but he was too strong for me. Eventually, I just gave up and joined him under the umbrella.
The walk towards home was silent but inviting as I didn't want to hear his voice. The cars passed by in a flash and I stole a glance at the stranger. As he was holding the umbrella, I noticed that the umbrella was leaning closer to me and his sleeves were getting soaked by the rain.
I held the roof of the umbrella and tilt it to his side. He paused and looks at me. "What's the matter, Kurosawa?"
I don't mutter anything and he just gives me one last look before we started to walk again. Then he smiled. "Thanks, Kurosawa."
"I didn't do anything," I muttered.
But the smile on his face says otherwise.
