After our little argument on the ride back we finally got to my brothers house. I had to live with Theodore for a while since out father was struggling with keeping up with the bills with the both of us living there. Theo offered to help so here we are.
"You can take that room and the bathroom is over here. Tommorow I'll drive you around town to see some local spots and to buy groceries because we dont have shit." Theo and I both laughed as I looked into the fridge an saw Nothing but soda and grapes.
"We are definitely ordering a pizza tonight." I was already dialing the number as Theo agreed.
I hung up the phone "They'll be here in 25 minutes."
"Nice! Hey took a look at this Zoe. I found it the other day when I was cleaning up."
Going over to him I noticed the small picture book in his hands.
"Look it's mom." Theo pointed to a picture of all of us standing in front of the same truck Theo still drives. Theo looked around five and and was sitting on the truck. I probably was just born and I was being held by mom. Dad was in the middle of making sure Theo didn't fall off the truck.
I had to stop looking at the photos. They brought back mixed emotions. "I wish I knew more about her. At least have more time with her before she left Tennessee."
Theodore rubbed my back. "Mom left because that's just who she was. She couldn't be tied down and it's not a bad thing. Why Washington of all places I don't know but. When I came out here it was to look for her. Then I just stopped."
I looked up at him. "Do you think mom is still alive?"
Theodore almost broke out into tears. His whole mood changed after I asked that. Like I had got him out of his huge ego for once.
"To me she is." Was the last thing he said about mom. Then we heard our pizza delivery guy at the door.
