Zoe is forced to move out to Washington with her brother after their father gets into financial trouble. There she meets a local named Kurt who gives her a lesson about what it means to live.
I awoke to the bright sun blaring into my room casting a glow on everything it touched. Then I realized what the fuck I was touching.
I had just realized I was on top of Kurt. The headache was starting to kick in and I came to the conclusion that we probably got drunk last night and had fallen asleep. I laid there a while feeling comfortable on his slender frame. Thinking he was asleep I started to trace his facial hair with my finger but he wasn't asleep.

He opened his eyes grinning at me. "What are you doing?"
At that moment I jumped up off of him completely. Words couldn't describe the embarrassment coursing through my veins. "You were awake this whole time!?"
"Uh yeah" he answered so nonchalantly.
"Then why didn't you tell me to get off of you!?"
Kurt grinned sideways at me. "You were still sleeping and I'm not a rude person."
Before I could even elaborate I heard police sirens. "Oh shit" I murmured running to my window.
2 cop cars were outside and of course my brother was talking to them. Directing them to my room.
I muttered to myself "He called the fucking police again."
"He must of caught us and Instead of waking us up he called the fucking police." I was beyond pissed at Theo for this.
"There's nothing I can do but let them take me. I've already caused a enough trouble for your family it's about time I pay for it." Kurt got up heading to the door.
I was confused as to what he meant by 'causing trouble for my family and paying for it' but there was no time to question it.
"I'm walking out with you! I don't care what Theodore says. I'm not a little kid anymore." I protested.
"Zoe you don't need to-" Kurt started but I cut him off.
"I know but I don't care, let's go." With that said Kurt walked outside to Theodores surprise I was right behind him.
Kurt was immediately handcuffed for trespassing and put in the cop car and I tried to get in to but Theodore told them I was his sister.
"No that's my little sister she lives with me!" Theodore looked so controlling in this moment I couldn't stand him.
"Shut the fuck up Theo!" I screamed at him wanting to punch him but I knew Better.
The officer spoke to me explaining that he couldn't arrest me because technically I hadn't done anything wrong. That's when I got an idea.
I kicked the officer in the groin and watched as he fell to the ground while his partner immediately arrested me and put me in the back seat with Kurt.
I watched Theo through the glass of the car as we speed off.
"THERE YOU GO RUNNING AWAY JUST LIKE FUCKING MOM! YOU'RE JUST ALIKE ! ONE DAY YOUR GONNA GET YOURSELF HURT!" I didn't let Theo's screams of bullshit effect me. I didn't care if I ever saw him again after how he acted.
Kurt got my attention as I was lying my head on the window. "Kicking the cop in his balls, pretty badass." We both laughed and immediately got quiet when the officer I kicked told us to Shut the hell up.
